About Mitch Goldman
My parents bought this property in the early 60's: They were both teachers and had summers free to live in Maine. As a result I vacationed and summered in the area for my whole childhood life. I held jobs in the blueberry business both raking by-hand and on a farm co-op receiving and transfer station. I grew to appreciate the abundant wildlife and natural beauty that this site and the surrounding area had to offer. I learned that Acadia National Park is the only National Park in the North East. By day, if it wasn't blueberry season yet, I swam in the lake, read (you'll have tv and internet), hiked or biked down the dirt road or just generally communed with nature. The Owls, Loons, Toads and Cicadas are a nightly symphony. Now I bring the kids back to do the same. They love to wander on the dirt road, swim, kayak, play ping pong, and air-hockey, and have the nightly campfire and s'mores. All on a quiet and private 4-acre lake-front site.
Why Mitch Goldman chose Eastbrook
4-acre lake-front site across a dirt road from 100's of acres of Blueberry field. It is a great location with relatively easy access to Ellsworth, Bangor (I-95), Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park (ANP) and the less-crowded but still spectacular Schoodic Peninsula section of ANP. Please contact me if you have any questions.

We loooved this place. Well worth the hour drive from Bar Harbor/Acadia. It was so quiet, fun, like our own oasis. I wish it was a bit closer since it would get so dark (6pm) early on, yet would easily stay again.
Screen porch and deck were a huge bonus. Having coffee in the morning on the deck and listening to the loons and ducks was very pleasant. We got to meet the property manager/cleaner. What a wonderful lady. She let us in early due to unforeseen circumstances. (The owner let us onto the property until they were done cleaning). There were some dump trucks going by in the morning and throughout the day, but I doubt that is a year round ocurrance. The road to the home was a bit bumpy, but it looked like they were in the middle of remediating that. Perfect for a young family. The air hockey and ping pong table are great for kids (and adults). We really enjoyed the quiet. The home is spacious and good for a large gathering. The propane stove in the living room is nice for chilly evenings (October). The pond is a bit shallow by the dock, but great for young kids to splash around in. I would definitely recommend.
Time Away with HomeAway
Lovely stay by Abrams Pond with roomy accommodations.
We loved staying here the home was so relaxing and was only half hour from town. We were looking forward to boating unable to do the water was only few inches at dock and several feet out. With that being said we relaxed and found that was needed for us. Their were lakes near that we could bring boat too and chose not to. We found home so beautiful we sat outside everyday we could. On this trip we realized we wanted to live everyday like this so it was a life changing experience.Thank you so much.
Beautiful property with everything you need!
We returned this summer after renting last summer and loving it!!! It is so nice to rent a house where everything you need is at your fingertips. Mitch, the owner, is very responsive and acted promptly when we needed anything. The water access is perfect, the fishing was spectacular (so my son says!) and the house had everything we needed. The game area in the basement was perfect for those lazy bad weather days. Having the extra air conditioning units in the windows was a wonderful bonus as the weather was very hot for Maine. The lake is beautiful and we enjoyed observing the bald eagles and loons as they hunted for fish. Our two weeks was fun and relaxing. The house was clean, the beds comfortable and we felt right at home with all that was provided in the updated kitchen. We love this place and hope to return sometime soon. Thanks for an awesome Maine vacation.

Dickens Farm Rd. is marked at the turn-off with a regulation green street sign.
119 Dickens Farm Rd. becomes a dirt road that goes down between two barns. Our driveway is 1/2 mile down the dirt road, on the right.
Eastbrook is close to Ellsworth, Bangor, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Close enough for easy access even during peak times, or you can remain at 'camp' and avoid the crowds altogether. Depending when you go you may not see any other people, around camp and the lake, all week. There is no better location in New England for outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, sailing, beach-combing, and fall foliage viewing.
