As featured on HGTV and winner of 'BANG FOR YOUR BUCK' in St Thomas. To see the episode, just go on You tube and then search Cliffhanger STT. This recently renovated villa resides on the edge of a cliff 200 feet above the Atlantic Ocean crashing onto the rocks below. Located in the the best location on the island, on the peninsula of Peterborg, in a private, secure, gated community of luxury villas, this home is at the end of a private road. Once you park and enter through the stone exterior wall of the property, you will be greeted by spectacular views of the Atlantic and various islands including St. John, Jost van Dyke and Tortola. The home is located less than 2 miles from Magen's Bay and just 5 minutes to Mahogany Run golf course. This is the perfect vacation home for a family or 2 to 4 couples wanting the ultimate get away. Our Villa manager will greet you at the airport and show you to the villa. He will then get you aquainted and answer questions... Other services, are available (trips to grocery store), massage, chefs services, boat captains, etc.. (at additional cost). We pride ourselves on our personal service. You will love it!
We loved your house on St. Thomas!!! It was the perfect place for our family vacation. Everyone was happy. Joe and Sally were wonderful during our stay on the island. Many thanks for allowing us to enjoy your home!
Thoroughly enjoyed this property. The kitchen was well-equipped to suit all of our needs. The rooms were beautifully furnished. We loved the hot tub and swimming pool. Breath-taking views from the living room and deck. We would definitely stay here again!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at the cliffhanger! The process to rent was smooth and easy transaction. We rented the Cliffhanger to stay at during our wedding/honeymoon. We could not have asked for a better house. The property was even better than the pictures and I was not sure that was possible. The views were fantastic! We were able to utilize the entire house with our family and everyone had a wonderful stay, it was warm and inviting. The beds were very comfortable. The only bad thing is we did not stay longer! Thank you very much for friendly staff and amazing wedding experience. I hope to come back and visit on anniversary!
I would agree with the other reviewers that this location is better enjoyed in person. The pictures are accurate. The home comes at a premium but in my opinion it is worth it. I stayed at this location at the end of October with my wife and 2 year old daughter. It could be argued that the house was too big for just us but who cares. To be frank it is not the actual living space that is most impressive but rather the privacy, the view, the incredible deck space and plunge pool that makes this vacation home a "must rent". Each bedroom has its own master bath and television. The fourth bedroom is off the main home but rather above it. It sits up the stairs higher on the cliff. This is the bedroom with the bathroom that has the rock wall seen in the pictures. Also up the stairs is the hot tub. I used it once. The view from the hot tub is obscured by surrounding vegetation but offers complete privacy. The plunge pool is on the main deck and is fairly deep. I am 5'10" and the water is neck level when standing in the middle of the pool.
The deck is two levels. The bottom level has four wonderful individual hammocks to sit in and enjoy the view. My daughter enjoyed them as a swing. She also fell out of it once but she was ok. The deck has plenty of room to run and play. The house faces a private island, Tortula and St. John (both off in the distance). There is a deck off the main master bedroom with a larger hammock.
The fence surrounding all decks has steel 1 plus inch wire every 6 inches. I mention this because I brought a 2 year old. We watched her like a hawk but she was always safe.
The house sits at the end of the road. The driveway seems to be shared with the next neighbor. It gets crowded when they park more than one car in the lot. They were very nice about moving their vehicles when they realized we were staying at the home.
The house is in a gated community approximately 2 miles from Magen's Bay, truly an amazing national park. It is approximately 30 minutes from the airport. It is important that you rent a car however driving is English style. We rented from Amalie. Terrific experience! I highly recommend them. They rented us a 2015 brand new 4 door 4 wheel Jeep wrangler with a hard top. We are so happy that we did. The roads are hilly, not well maintained and sometimes off road.
The caretaker for the home meets you at the airport. He was kind enough to wait for us while Amalie brought our car to us (Amalie also meets
Cliffhanger is an amazing place!
This villa is perfectly located at the end of a private drive behind a security gate and perched on the side of cliff with the best views of the ocean and Islands. With more than enough rooms for our group of 6 and probably could easily handle 4 couples. Completely furnished with very upscale decor and amenities. Huge bathrooms, incredibly comfortable beds and a fully equipped kitchen. The kids loved the plunge pool while I loved the spa tub on the upper deck. Several decks around the villa with some having hammocks and lounge chairs. The entire place was private and secluded but it was perfectly located just a few minutes to Magan’s Bay and the golf course. Once you get settled in you won’t want to leave.
The owner Larry took my frantic call the day we needed a villa as we were already on the Island and he and his staff (Joe and Sally Limeburner)immediately went into action and got it ready for us, great, great customer service!
Coffee and fruit on the deck was my favorite part of the stay but bring a light sweater as the wind is always blowing and is very welcome in the heat of the afternoon.
Our daughters favorite place was the cottage above the villa just a few steps away, it gave her just enough privacy and the bathroom in it is amazing (not gonna tell you about it, you will have to see it to believe it).
There is a washer and dryer and they also provided very nice beach chairs and ice chests to use at the beach, a very nice touch.
As the villa is perched on the side of the cliff it is hard to get good pictures of the main house but trust me it is amazing. This is the place in St Thomas!
We arrived in the pouring rain on May 16, 2015. That didn't deter Sally. She met us at the airport, waited while we picked up a Dollar Rental Car and took us to Cost U Less. Then she escorted us to the Cliffhanger and the vacation began. The villa is beautiful and spacious. We cooked or grilled most nights and the kitchen is fully equipped. We stayed in the Villa on Sunday since the weather was still questionable. The sun made its appearance and we had a great time just chilling on the deck. The views are amazing --the cliffs behind you, the ocean in front and St John and Tortola in the distance. At night, you could see the stars and the other islands lighted up. In the mornings before going to the beaches, we exercised on the lower deck. We had a great time.
Well our 9 day vacation in paradise ended all too soon. We (3 couples) really enjoyed our stay at the Cliffhanger Villa.
You all certainly out did yourselves in accomplishing every detail; we were all very pleased and comfortable during our stay. Being greeted at the airport by Sally, our concierge and driven to our Villa was most appreciated. She explained everything at the villa to our satisfaction, and then directed us to our first shopping location for food etc. Not getting lost on our first day was most appreciated.
We rented a van and did all our own driving; we got the roads and destinations down fairly early. Here are some restaurant reviews:
Got breakfast from the Cup & Cork most mornings (bagels your way)...great and close by. Then ate out at the following:
First night went to Kocapeli’s for burgers and beers....this was one of the best inexpensive meals we had all vacation; then went to Cost-U-Less food store for initial load out of supplies
13 Restaurant: pricey and food was voted by all as good, not excellent but friendly service and great bar drinks
Italian restaurant next to Cup & Cork: not so good; told the Chef was on a bender; food was late and not well prepared; had to pay extra for bread and water WTF? (Why the face?)
Room With-a-View restaurant at Bluebeards was the best: pricey but well prepared; excellent view of the island and harbor; great service...best meal out.
Preparing dining-in meals to include chicken in wine sauce, beef cooked two ways with fresh veggies and a cheese cake for dessert was also fun for a change up.
Spent most days at Magens Beach which was great (and close by) until the big cruise ships number more than 2; if 3 or more, stay home or leave the beach by 1PM. Schedule of arrivals is posted in local guides/ pamphlets. Beach was great; bar drinks served on the beach; chair rental and admission fees reasonable. Some beach chairs available from the Villa.
Staying at Cliffhanger was like a get away to your own private island world. The amenities were complete, the rooms were comfortable and the view and ambiance spectacular. A very private and enjoyable vacation.
