Dear John and Beverly,

Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend in your beautiful cabin. The sunsets got more & more spectacular every day & I thoroughly enjoyed just swinging in the porch swing & relaxing in the amazing hot tub. Thank you for allowing me to share your home – it was just what the doctor ordered.

Beautiful relaxing place!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Graywolf. So much, that we parked our SUV there Friday afternoon, and we didn't move it until we left Sunday! The cabin has spectacular views, and the wrap-a-round porch was heavenly. We brought our newly adopted beagle, and she enjoyed napping, playing on the porch, and watching out for the hummingbirds at the feeder. (It was so nice that the porch was gated).. We enjoyed the hot tub, nice grill, and two screen doors which let in a very nice breeze. The cabin was very clean and well-stocked. Beverly and John have truly thought of every detail. We cannot wait to return to this peaceful retreat.

Wonderful home base....

  • 5 of 5

Greywolf was a beautiful home and location for relaxing after a day of hiking. The views are amazing and we loved spending time in the hot tub. We were able to sit out in the evening with our dog and 'take in the views' as well as lots of hummingbird activity - really appreciated the fenced in decks and yard! House is clean and fully equipped - kitchen well stocked - including sheets and towels - really comfortable bed. Will be back for sure - thanks for everything.

welcoming, cozy and quaint with a breathtaking view!

This was our first experience using Home Away, but will not be our last. Straightaway, we were impressed by the owner's honesty and speed in replying. She was open in letting us know the cabin was about an hour drive from Blue Ridge Parkway, so we could factor that into our decision and she also was very transparent in letting us know she had no other interested parties at that time for the weekend we were looking at. The property is perfect if you crave beautiful views and privacy, the one lane driveway is a little daunting , were you to meet someone coming the opposite direction, one of you would have to back up, but this wasn't an issue. We only saw a few houses on our way up the mountain, and we liked that just fine.

When you arrive the cabin has a welcoming feel to it, it is truly like staying as someone's guest. The cabin is furnished and decorated with a warm and cozy decor that makes you feel as you are truly spending a weekend with close friends. There was a welcome bottle of wine and 2 glasses set out, along with instructions for anything we may need to know as well as contact numbers for the owners should we need them. A remote control fireplace, outdoor hot tub, wrap around porch with swings both on the east and west side were a few of the most enchanting features. You can watch the mountain sunrise and sunset from the porch in either a swing or a rocker. There is a bird feeder, (cleverly placed on a zipline to thwart the squirrels) and plenty of birdseed for you to fill it if you so choose. They also allow you the use of any dry goods such as sugar, coffee, spices etc. The appliances were all very modern, dishwasher, washer and dryer and of course the refrigerator (which our kids just loved). Our family of four and our dog stayed three nights. There was never an issue with enough hot water, though we did try and conserve water overall. The bedrooms were lovely with plenty of pillows and blankets. There were board games as well as a nice cache of DVDs and VCR movies. It was just a really welcoming and refreshing choice. We were thoroughly pleased and would love to return soon! Thank you for allowing us to share your home away from home!
