About Mary

I love gardening and the cottage is surrounded by my efforts of creating a nest of greenery that puts the city at bay while you nestle in for a pleasant urban experience.

It was important for me to draw from my own travels and wanted to show the same warmth and generosity I've experienced and apply it as a host.

Mary purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Mary chose Beacon Hill

Seattle is a great city and I'm happy to show it off from the perspective of a proud homeowner and a seasoned traveler.

Seeing the interior of a place through a cozy neighborhood makes a more relaxing and memorable trip.

Our cottage has been very popular with our neighborhood who bring their family members to stay with us.

What makes this cottage unique

You'll get a personal greeting as I live on the property. I believe that is why most people take this route so they can have a human experience. A bit of communication and warm hospitality goes a long way.

We live near Jefferson Park which is an easy walk (1.5 miles) from the cottage. The park has gone through an incredible renovation and expansion! We are proud to showcase a basketball court, 4 tennis courts, skateboard park and a children's play area.

Relaxing AND fun!!!!!!!!?

  • 5 of 5

Had all the space and the atmosphere a couple needed to enjoy a four-day weekend. The bus went to our front door to the middle of downtown around the clock in little time. The facility was meticulously maintained and updated. The owners were true professionals, ensured we had everything we needed. Also forgave us on a check-out time misunderstanding, made the situation a win-win, will return on another occasion. Also the property really had the Beacon Hill feel to it. thank you!

The Beacon Hill Cottage is everything as described and more. We were warmly greeted by the owner, Mary, who I immediately wanted as my new best friend. My husband and I were in Seattle to celebrate a special birthday and wanted something close to Seward Park. The Beacon Hill Cottage was perfect. Cozy bed, quiet, privacy, parking and close to great restaurants. The cottage has a beautiful courtyard and lovely porch with seating. The refrigerator was fully stocked and we had coffee for the morning as well. The owners have attended to every detail a traveler would need. We were pleasantly surprised to be so close to Columbia City in south-eastern Seattle, an area which we were not familiar. We had a delicious breakfast at "Geraldine's" (I recommend the French Toast, my husband loved the corned beef hash) and had a great time looking around the area.

Beacon Hill Cottage is a true gem. Highly recommended!
