Unique decor, blend of beautiful French Antique and modern furniture
Brand new appliances
Beautiful scenic views of the village from the house
Very quiet surroundings
Typical French village with big cites amenities nearby
This is a property that I inherited in 2006 from my dad when he past away. I was born in this village, my birth home is accross the street (23 rue de Baccarat), but it was sold. I decided to keep l'Atelier because I had a vision of a family vacation home there. The property definitely delivered on its promises.
Florence Lemoine purchased this house in 1880
The house was my great grandfather's home. One of my great ant lived there up to the 50's. Then it belonged to my dad who turned it into his workshop (hence its name l'Atelier). The furniture was inherited too. I tried to keep the spirit of my dad and his ancestors in the decor of the house. The 2 photos in the entrance hall are my great grandfather's and my great granmother's. All the other photos are genuine family pictures.
It is a brand new home inside the original walls of an old farm house. We did a complete remodel that lasted for 3 years. The structure is a architectural compromise between the original structure and some modern features, like large windows, open spaces, modern appliances and bathrooms.
This is a wonderful home with all the amenities one could want. With four bedrooms, three baths, the more the merrier. The local hosts, Dominique and Corrine, are fantastic and can help in many ways. We stayed here two weeks and are anxious to return and, hopefully, bring friends to share the experience.
Only four kilometers from the fascinating city of Baccarat, Glonville is a quiet farming village allowing guests to relax and unwind. All visitors to the Alsace/Lorraine area of France should explore Baccarat and visit the museum of Baccarat Crystal which is part of the company facilities which started producing crystal on the site in 1816. Adjacent to the museum is the company's store on the Main Street of the town. Be sure to browse/buy some of the world's greatest crystal.
Maison très bien entretenue, très agréable et bien équipée. Les gérants sont très sympathiques, accueillants, disponibles. la maison est idéalement située, on a pu visiter Nancy, Les Vosges entre autres.
In August 2013 we spent with our family (6 adults and 3 children) a week at L’Atelier. We had a perfect stay at your house. The weather was good, so we had almost every night a bbq and wood fire on the terrace.
You have a wonderful house which we very enjoined. The nice details like the child’s playground on the first floor, the terrace, the garden, everything was perfect!
Florence is very helpful, for example she gave us good tips for visiting some lakes in the neighbourhood.
Especially for families from Holland it is a good place to stay, because in just a 6 our drive you are at your destination and it is a very nice region to stay.
This is a fantastic family vacation home. We came with our kids and grandkids to spend our Christmas vacation and it exceeded our expectations. Just staying at the house you will already have a great vacation with plenty of toys, games and entertainment for big and small. We felt totally at home in this beautiful remodeled, warm and welcoming home.
We enjoy everything French so it was a delight just to go to the local bakery (very friendly and helpful) and get our fresh bread and croissants. We have eaten all the French food we miss at home........so we spent quite some time in the totally equipped kitchen and at the table!
We made trips to play in the snow, see the Christmas market in Strasbourg (enchanting), visited the medieval castle. We biked to the next village to browse the second hand books in the different bookshops there (could have spent days only in those shops). There are so many things you can do that a week is not enough.
I can recommend this house for anybody.
My parents rented this house and I joined them from SA for three weeks. What a fabulous spot! I actually had a better time than holidays I have spent in Paris or city locations; I cannot describe how stunning the countryside and villages are in this area; there are plenty of scenic driving trips to do... We discovered delightful local towns, events and restaurants.
We traveled to Luxembourg (highly recommended), Brussels (not so highly recommended!), Strasbourg, Metz, Nancy, Colmar, Bern, Zurich, Freiberg and the Black Forest - all either day or overnight trips. We did the wine route in Lorrain near Colmar, but didn't get as far as Champagne.
In addition, we made good use of the bicycles at the house, using them for local cycling paths, to explore the area, and took them to cities we were visiting too.
Florence and Roland are very quick to communicate with helpful information, advice and tips. A great trip thank you!
We have just spent a most enjoyable week in this delightful and interesting house. The accommodation is very spacious and well equipped and is obviously a much loved family home and not just a "holiday let". The village of Glonville is quiet and peaceful but within easy reach of busier places like Nancy which is well worth a visit for the wonderful Place Stanislas.
The house was easy to book as Florence is happy to use PayPal to transfer funds and was always most helpful and accommodating. We found the information on the listing description accurate and useful and we have already recommended the house to friends who want somewhere to meet up with other members of their family who are living abroad, as it is an ideal venue for a larger group.
The house is in the country at the foot of the moutains 'les Vosges'. The nearest city (3 miles) is Baccarat where the famous crystal is made. There are several lakes in the vicinity (Pierre Percee, Gerardmer, etc). The Alsace wine region is about 1 hour's drive away. Nancy, the birthplace of Art Nouveau, is 30 miles away. There are a number of SPA cities (natural spring water therapy establishments) in the region such as Vitel and Plombieres. The local architecture is very rich, from medieval castles (haut Koenigsbourg) to renaissance masterpieces (place Stanislas in Nancy) and Art Nouveau.
Other Activities: outdoor mountaineering and lake activities at Lac de Pierre Percee
