You can fish in the ponds while observing the ducks and geese or just relax by the pond in the hammocks while watching the colorful sunset. This home is located three miles from downtown, on the southwestern side of the island about 300 yards from the beach and is equipped with two queen beds, two full beds and one twin bed. One full bath, a half bath and fully enclosed outdoor shower w/hot and cold water. Hardwood floors and sectional couch. Full kitchen also includes new refrigerator w/ice maker and filtered water, toaster, coffee maker, mixer, and blender. Central heating. Portable beach charcoal BBQ, Brand new stainless steel propane grill, private, filtered well water, as well as many other amenities in the home.
Block Island has been called 'The Bermuda of the North' and the beaches are known to have the cleanest, clearest waters on the East Coast.
Boat reservations are required for your vehicle and should be made immediately upon booking your rental. Call the Block Island Ferry for reservations and scheduling.
Dog Owners: This house is pet friendly, with a $50 pet fee per dog. Up to 3 well-behaved dogs allowed. Please know that the neighbors have cows in an electric fence. Wandering dogs should be monitored.
Yordanka and Benjamin met on Block Island while Yordanka worked a summer job at the BIG and Ben worked as a general contractor building residential homes.
Shortly after purchasing the home they moved in the pursuit of career opportunities presented to Yordanka after she graduated Yale SOM.
They both enjoy sharing their home and they use VRBO to rent homes from others when traveling. Meeting and sharing experiences with interesting people is something that they enjoy.
Sadly they are no longer able to manage their rental property on their own.
They hired Offshore Property to manage The Martin Mere house.

Yordanka and Benjamin happily chose to purchase this wonderful home from Benjamin's grandmother in 2012. They both love the island very much and are happy to be able to share its uniqueness with others. Benjamin has been a life long resident of Block Island and his family tree can be traced back to the founders of Block Island. Who's names can be found on settler's rock.
By purchasing the property the family was able to maintain ownership of a larger section of family owned properties.
Benjamin And Yordanka are happy to share their home with people who share their love for animals.
It pleases them to be able to share their home with people. Which makes the property a place that people can count on to bring their families back to year after year.
The property is surrounded by ponds, nature conservancy owned land, and it is situated between family owned property.
This makes the property unique because Benjamin's grandmother and parents are both quiet and very unlikely to complain about the occasional loud noises produced by good natured fun coming from the rental home.
There is also a boat and life preservers on the property.
My family and I have been renting houses on block for over a decade now. Of all the places we have stayed this house was by far the best! Not only is the house wonderful and clean, but the yard is a rare find on the island. We spent more time playing yard games and relaxing in the hammocks then going to the beach. The entire group used the outdoor shower the entire time versus being inside. It was the favorite part of the house by far , with a wonderful view of the pond. Highly recommend this rental my friends and family and dog absolutely loved it!
Rented house for family, spacious rooms, clean, easy to get to, plenty of room for multiple cars and space outside. Two ponds by house, and you can see Dories Cove from living room. Enjoyed watching the deer graze around the property too! Would rent again, looking forward to it!
Great Place!!! They owners were very open and worked with us to rent this house on the weekend!! We loved the location - on the west side of Block Island - very quite and nice neighborhood with horse farms in the area around the house - the house has two ponds and a big yard - Nice Long Driveway - off the main road. We loved the location - close to the Dori Cove Beach - horseback riding (on Dori Cove Beach), beautiful sunsets off the deck and in the yard - this was a very enjoyable stay for us - we had a great Weekend at Block Island made it a mini vacation with a family Wedding at the Altantic Inn. The house is nicely decorated inside - it was no big deal to air out the house when we first arrived - We would definitely stay there again!!

There is so much thought and attention by these owners in everything about this cottage to make sure your BIRI stay is one of wonderful Block Island experiences and Block Island memories! The cottage a 'breeze' to find and from the moment you open the door you overwhelmingly feel 'Welcomed' and cannot help but to start thinking about a return trip! My family ( 8 people, plus a dog) stayed here early in the summer season. The house was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had every amenity you could think of. The location was ideal for those seeking a peaceful getaway. The large, private yard overlooks a beautiful pond with the beach just a short walk away. The owners were very accommodating, letting my family stay for a few extra hours beyond the check-out time. Everyone had a great time, and we would definitely considering returning in the future! We just got back from a week at this most wonderful home. The first impression we had was that it was so private and well maintained. The pond became a focal point for our family. We had morning tea/coffee there on the dock and watched the sunrise reflections. We also sat there and fished and then when sunset came, we watched the colors dance in the water. The home was spacious and beautiful. We had 7 adults and we all had a place to escape to if needed. The owner lives nearby which makes it great if you have a question. The location was perfect. A short walk to Dorries Cove beach and you can sit there and watch the sunset while leaning against driftwood. We have nothing negative to say about our stay. We fell in love with Block Island and also this home. Thank you so much to the owner and for providing so many extras that we have never had at other vacation rentals. So many games (outdoor and in) and the hammocks under the trees were perfect during the heatwave.The house had many fans to cool us and also the nearby ocean breezes. We would love to come back to this house. Just totally perfect. We miss it already. We recommend it 100%.
