Overview

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday condo in Kauai - 7102

Condo, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)

Stay 5 nights or more in August 2016, and I will pay your cleaning fee ($155 value!)

-----

Hanalei Bay Resort unit 7102 is a privately owned and cared for one bedroom suite featuring countless amenities to please every guest. The condo features 1,180 square feet of spacious living area, with quality, tropically-themed furnishings throughout. The remodel which began in November 2014 is now complete! There are new cabinets and granite in the kitchen and bathrooms, tile flooring throughout, and other luxury items for guests to enjoy. There is a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a washer/dryer for your convenience. The bedroom features a luxurious cal-king bed with Tommy Bahama bedding and teak furniture, as well as a wall-mounted flat screen TV and DVD player. Air conditioning is provided in all main rooms for your comfort. You’ll be amazed by the panoramic views over Bali Hai and Hanalei Bay, with a walk-out lanai that expands your living area and brings you even closer to some of the greatest views on Kauai. I also provide a variety of beach gear (such as coolers, chairs, boogie boards, and more) for your adventures around the island.

This suite is located in a more private and peaceful area of the resort, away from the parking lot and the majority of foot traffic. Both swimming pools (including the lagoon style pool, rated by Fodor’s as one of the Top 10 Resort Pools in the US) and barbeque area are just a short walk away. The resort features 8 tennis courts with an award winning program by Peter Burwash International. In about 10 minutes, you’ll find yourself at Pu’u Poa Beach, shared with the St. Regis Resort. Complimentary bell service is available and can provide transport to and from the beach, as well as around the property. Everywhere you walk on the property you will find lush tropical grounds with flowers and greenery as far as the eye can see.

Hanalei Bay Resort is located in a quiet, residential area of Princeville. Just next door on the beach is the St. Regis Resort, which has several dining options available. There are also restaurants located at Pali Ke Kua and the Westin, which are just a short drive away. Just a little further in the car is the Princeville Shopping Center, which is a great place to get your groceries, as well as more dining and shopping options. There is also a gas station and post office located here. The majority of (and greatest variety of) closeby restaurants and shops are in Hanalei and Kilauea.

Please note that the Bali Hai Restaurant is currently closed for renovations. Please rest assured that no noise can be heard from the condo. It is anticipated to reopen in late 2016/early 2017. The Happy Talk Lounge is now open and serves lunch and dinner.

About Lisa Steele (Owner)

I am a pharmacist working for a large corporation in Washington. My family fell in love with this beautiful, tropical resort during vacations to Kauai many years ago. We finally had the perfect opportunity to purchase this unit in 2003 and now are able to visit our vacation paradise several times a year.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Lisa,

Well the world didn't end and my husband and I had an amazing 1st time on this beautiful island! The condo is beautiful and boy that view is gonna be hard to leave! We had everything we need and we have to thank you for those boogie boards... We used them for a good 5 hrs. We are from central California and visit Carmel by the sea often but I have never been in the ocean so long! We kayaked, hiked, swam under a waterfall and dined! We will be sharing your info w/ friends & family. I'm sure we will use your place in the future!

Beautiful Condo, Excellent Location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our 4 year old for a couple of nights while we checked out the North Shore of Kauai. The condo is beautiful with so many high-end finishes, and was perfect for the three of us. We loved the views from the porch of the mountains and the resort was very nice. It has similar views to the St. Regis at a fraction of the cost, and without any of the stuffiness of a high-end, posh resort.

My son loved the "rock pool" as he called it with a great area for smaller kids. It was a bit of a walk to and from the unit but it was great exercise and the views were fantastic. We also found the bell service to be very quick if we needed a golf cart to haul luggage or groceries. Thanks Lisa for a great stay!! We hope to be back soon for a longer stay.

Pleased

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We were very pleased with the room and accommodations. Everything was provided and it was tastefully decorated! Only downside was that it was a bit of a trek to get to the beach. Complimentary rides were provided but the staff were not the friendliest so we ended up walking everywhere. However, We were Very pleased with the condo and the whole rental process!

Beautiful condo in a very private/quiet location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived at Hanalei Bay Resort, we had a top-notch experience. The staff was all extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. The grounds and facilities are really well-maintained and beautiful. We used the main pool, grills, and the beach access.

A lot is said about the distance to the parking lot from the unit, but it was absolutely a non-issue for us. The only time we used a golf cart shuttle was when we arrived and departed with all of our luggage. I could see how it would be an issue if you are less mobile, but we enjoyed the walk (about 6-8 minutes). Being an end unit also gave us a lot of privacy, and it was really quiet and peaceful.

The condo is tastefully decorated with nice furniture, appliances, dishes, etc. We felt very comfortable during our stay. It was great having the in-unit washer and dryer too. I mean, it's not like we wanted to do a ton of laundry while on our honeymoon, but it was so nice to be able to do a couple loads and get everything clean since we were over a week into our trip when we arrived. The washer and dryer are extremely quick and efficient, so it took us no time at all.

I don't think we have a single complaint or recommendation - it was truly an A+ experience, and we would definitely visit again!

Fabulous condo with great views

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here quite a bit. It looks exactly as it does in the pictures.

It was spotless and very well-equipped. The only thing it lacked was plastic glasses to take a drink to the pool area, although soon the pool bar and restaurant will be open.

The bed was very comfortable, and I loved the bedsheets. I even liked the alarm clock.

The shower was great, everything seemed shiny and new.

The nene came to visit us as breakfast every morning, which was a nice treat.

It is a long walk (500 steps on my Fitbit) to the parking lot, but they will bring you around in the golf cart and that is one reason this building is so appealing, it is quiet, except the unfortunate BABY in the condo next door that cried for what seemed like the entire duration of our stay but that is not relevant to this unit.

Very little foot traffic around and convenient to the recycling in the laundry room across the sidewalk, although there is a very nice washer and dryer in the unit so you don't have to use the communal one.

There were plenty of amenities for the beach, although we did not use them. Also some nice books, games, TV, etc. We did not really use any of them either. It was very pleasantly decorated. Very serene.

This is our second stay at HBR and we love it.

We cooked several meals in the condo and enjoyed having everything at our disposal.

I would not hesitate to recommend!

Updated, clean and great

  • 5 of 5

Great property in HBR. All new appliances and great, clean comfortable furniture. Kitchen was even stocked with coffee filters, sugar, salt, pepper, etc. The whole property of HBR is great and this one has some advantages. It's all the way at the end which allows for more quiet and seclusion. It also has a nice, almost private grassy back area. The only negatives to the location is the distance from the upper pool and parking lot, but the lower pool and BBQ area is very close. They also have golf cart transportation when requested, if you don't mind waiting. You still have an amazing view from the property, but because it is down lower, part of the view is obstructed by the trees. Lisa, the owner was also great. Very responsive to all questions, and even allowed us a 6p check out time for no extra charge. Only other negative is the cell phone signal is a bit spotty in the room, some carriers worse than others, so we frequently found ourselves having to leave the room to use our phones. Overall, I give it a 9/10, and highly recommend it.

updated, spacious, well-equipped condo

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Lisa's condo for our 10-year-anniversary. The condo was clean upon our arrival. Is is nicely decorated and updated as well as very spacious, which made us feel comfortable during our trip. We were quite pleased with the provided extra amenities (washer and dryer, detergent, soaps, paper towels, kitchen utensils, pots/pans, coolers, beach chairs, etc.). The bed was comfortable and the A/C worked well in the hot/humid evenings and mornings while we were there. The bathroom and shower are brightly lit and have ample storage space. The view from the patio/lanai is beautiful and we enjoyed peaceful mornings looking out into the ocean, mountain, and lush landscape. Unfortunately, the young couple who had rented the adjoining smaller unit during the same timeframe were quite loud in their conversations, which was a significant disruption to the tranquility of the surrounding environment. I wish that we had been provided a small vacuum or dust buster to use during our stay to clean up the sand we had tracked in on our feet from the beach as the broom that was provided did not work as well for this purpose. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return if circumstances allow.

Location

Car: necessary

Hanalei Bay Resort is located in a quiet, residential area. Down a winding tropical pathway is Pu'u Poa Beach, which is a nice sheltered location for swimming, snorkeling, surfing and more. This beach is best and most calm in the summer months. Just next door on the beach is the St. Regis Resort, which has many dining options available. There are also restaurants located at Pali Ke Kua and the Westin, which are just a short drive away. Just a little further drive in Princevile is the Princeville Shopping Center, which is a great place to get your groceries, as well as more dining and shopping options. There is also a gas station and post office located here. The majority of (and greatest variety of) closeby restaurants and shops are in Hanalei and Kilauea.
