Wasn't quite what we thought but sometimes that happens. Easy check in. PLENTY of room! Roland was great when we emailed about an empty gas tank for the grill. We all had a great time.
Great old, very large, farmhouse on a beautiful lot
Roland's house is a very large farmhouse. I think it is the largest house we've ever rented. We had six people with us (myself, my wife, our two older teens and two of their friends). The house has lots of space so everyone could find somewhere to go if they wanted privacy.
The yard was great and we sat out back in the dark to watch the stars. There is a basketball hoop on the driveway, which we used to shoot some hoops.
The house is 5 minutes from Acadia NP and about 10 minutes from Bar Harbor. The location is great as it is easy to get everywhere quickly. We even took advantage of the shuttle system to get back from a hike.
We recommend this house. The kitchen is a bit dated but there is lots of room, it is in a prime location and we would rent it again.
Spacious house in quiet area.
Very easy check in. Spacious house in a quiet area. Beds are comfortable. Plenty of kitchen equipment so easy to cook in the house. We enjoyed it.
Great location in Bar Harbor
Spacious old home in a great location. We were able to see the water from up the street, with terrific access to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Close to everything. The house, like our own home, is from a different era, but plenty comfortable. Lots of room. And laundry facilities which was a great bonus.
Beautiful Farm House
My family and I loved staying at this property. I am really sorry for all the negative reviews. We traveled with a 5 and 6 year old and they loved “The Farm House”. We loved playing basketball, it is a short drive to Acadia and downtown and a walk away from the water. The place was extremely clean. We noticed no smells what so ever. The house is over 150 years old and is maintained well. The charm is wonderful. The lot is great and on a quiet street. There were even a few puzzles and games our kids could play. There are three brand new couches and a chair that aren’t shown in the current pictures.
We enjoyed coffee on the porch and walking in the community! Thanks for an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!
I am so glad these guests enjoyed the property and had a great trip. We actually have an overwhelming majority of good reviews. Out of the 20 to 25 sets of guests there every year almost everyone loves it but, like every restaurant or rental house, we get an oddball review now and again. Often it is someone who booked at the last minute and then changed their plans and wanted to coerce a refund after the cancellation period and we would not agree and so complained under false pretense and of course look for reviews of those who did the same for something to hang their hat on. Regardless, it is a beautiful, comfortable and well-maintained house in a great neighborhood and convenient location.
