The house is located at the Ponte dei Cavalli at Isorno River between the towns of Intragna and Golino. Supermarket for daily shopping can be found in Intragna or Verscio, as well as bank and post office. Losone, Ascona or Locarno can be reached in about 10 minutes by car. By public transport, bus or Centovalli Railway (Locarno-Domodossola) Cavigliano is easily accessible. Stops in Intragna, Verscio or Cavigliano.
Cavigliano is situated in the region of Pedemonte, at the junction of Valle Onsernone, on the road leading to Intragna and Centovalli. The convenient location makes it an ideal starting point for excursions in the region with over 160 km of hiking and walking trails.
The environment offers also interesting excursions for cyclists and mountain bikers. You will find unspoiled, romantic beaches along the rivers Melezza, Rovana and Maggia in just a few minutes by car from Locarno and Ascona on Lake Maggiore.
Within less than 2 km away is the beautiful 18-hole golf course of Losone, which is considered one of the best places in Switzerland, or the historic 18-hole Golf Club Patriziale of Ascona. In the nearby place Verscio there is the world-famous Teatro Dimitri with their own university for street artists and clowns.
The picturesque canyon in Centovalli perfect for swimming in the river and in small natural pools. The bathing areas are between Verscio and Cavigliano and between Intragna and Corcapolo. There is no additional infrastructure such as toilets, changing rooms, showers or kiosks down on the riverbank. The river Melezza is situated in a panoramic area. Especially in the summer it is ideal to escape from the heat, you have just to place yourself in one of the countless basins flushed from the river. In spring and autumn, however little sunlight falls into the ravine; it can then also be quite cool. Bathing in the river is less dangerous than in the Maggia. Note, however, that the valley above Intragna is in parts is very tight, and the river can rise very quickly during storms
