Montepagano is the oldest village of Roseto degli Abruzzi. It is the country where the history and urbanization of the current municipality of Roseto degli Abruzzi has developed. It stands on the hill that faces the city, from whose center is about 6 km, and is also considered the historical and panoramic center of the same.
The position between the sea and the hills of Montepagano and Roseto degli Abruzzi is also reflected in the local gastronomy. Wine is one of the most renowned products of the two villages that also boast a large production of oil.
Among the typical foods we find fish dishes, such as spaghetti with seafood, or traditional recipes such as "mazzarelle", the "scrippelle`mbusse", the "timballo", the "maccheroni alla chitarra".
