The Biokovo Nature Park (Croatian Park prirode Biokovo) was declared a Natural Park in 1981 thanks to its unique geomorphology, exceptional biodiversity and scenic beauty. The park covers an area of 196 km² and covers approximately 30 km of the Biokovo Mountains from Dubci to Gornja Igrane. In the park is the botanical garden of Kotišina, located on the slope above the village Kotišina. The Biokovo has all the typical karst phenomena - sinkholes, naturally formed hollows, caves, ice pits and caves. The deepest is the 788 meter deep Amfora, the fourth deepest grotto in Croatia.
