La Punt Chamues-ch - The Proud
The old patricians already knew why they set up their stately homes here: La Punt is strategically located at the foot of the former trading axis over the Albula Pass. The former farming village of Chamues-ch, on the other hand, is sheltered at the entrance to the mysterious Gämsen valley, the Val Chamuera. Even today, one is proud of the richly decorated farmhouses and stately patrician houses from the 16th and 17th centuries. Century: the Chesa Merleda with its bright white battlements, the Albertini houses with their ornate facades or the imposing Chesa "Sandoz". And, of course, the top gastronomy in the more than 450-year-old Gasthaus Krone or in the famous Chesa Pirani with two Michelin stars. Picturesque and sun-drenched, the village stretches between wild peaks and fragrant mountain pine forests along the young Inn across the Engadine valley floor.
