Apartment, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

We bought this house on the street behind us in 2008 and did a complete historic renovation on it. It's nice. We have two large bedrooms, both with queen beds and personality. Only one bath, but it's got a Jacuzzi tub. The kitchen is small, but you're not coming to New Orleans to eat in. A nice living room, stereo, cable Flat Screen TV, lots of CDs and DVDs and books, and WiFi. All very comfortable. The one downside is that this is the second floor, so you have to climb stairs. But then you get the front gallery (porch) you can hang out on as a reward.

And we love our location. We're one house off Magazine street, right in the coolest section. Tons of great restaurants, bars, shopping of all kinds, coffeehouses - Magazine is a great street. And we're more than happy to give you all the guides and suggestions you need. We're locals, and know our way around New Orleans.

We're also inside the parade route, so we're only a few blocks from the Mardi Gras parades in a couple of directions.

We live in the house behind this house (facing the next parallel street) and have our offices on the first floor. There is a shared yard in between.

What makes this apartment unique

Location, location, location! We are one house off Magazine on Antonine St. Lilette Restaurant is right on the corner and Baru Restaurant is a block away, also Le Petite Grocery, Coquette, Saveur, Shaya, Cavan... Plus, there are over 30 other restaurants within walking distance, plus boutiques, antique stores, interior design shops, cafes, a grocery store, and art galleries.

The apartment is cozy and modern with a New Orleans touch... a perfect perch for your New Orleans experience!

We also have gated off-street parking.

Lovely apartment, great location.

We really enjoyed staying in this lovely apartment. It is literally a few steps from Magazine Street which has lots of great restaurants and shops. We particularly enjoyed eating in Cavan. The apartment is very spacious and well equipped and also very clean. It was nice to sit on the balcony to have a coffee or drink and watch the world go by. It is a very peaceful location. The Garden district where it is located is very pretty with lots of historic buildings. There is very easy access to the French Quarter and Downtown on the trolley bus from St Charles Avenue which is only about 5-10 mins walk away. The trolley runs very late so even after an evening out on Frenchman Street it is easy to get home. It is also easy to get up to Audubon and Uptown which is also a very pretty area. We had a nice lunch in the cafe at the golf club in Audubon Park.

Elena provided lots of local information which was very useful. Everything you need can be found in shops just a few minutes walk away. It really felt like we were in a district where people live rather than just a tourist area. Parking is also very easy and you certainly don't need a car once you are there. For any Brits who might stay, be aware- we got a ticket for parking the wrong way round on the street, something which isn't a violation in the UK.

Our only regret is that we didn't have more time as New Orleans is a great city with so much to see.

Perfect location.

This apartment is a prefect landing spot to go anywhere in NOLA. It was just as described. The shops and food within walking distance were charming, delicious and award winning. We enjoyed our stay and would reccomend this property to anyone.

What a wonderful place to stay

We have been here for 4 days with 4 persons and enjoyed all the time. The apartment is located next to one of the most interesting and exciting streets in New Orleans. Located at the first floor it offers 2 bed-, 1 bath- and 1 living-room, is equipped with all one Needs and is priced reasonably. Going to downtown it only takes roughly 15 minutes by public bus which we would recommend to use (for USD 3,- per day).

Nice

Magazine Street was quiet. There was a good wine bar nearby and other smaller restaurants if needed. Uber to downtown was affordable. The unit was very clean. It was also very well-appointed. Not only did it have nice linen but also everyday household items you might not have like an umbrella. The media and entertainment (library and movies) was great as well. Thanks for your attention to detail.

Great!

This was the perfect place for my son and me. We were here to find him an apt. for med school. The location was safe and extremely convenient. The rooms were very comfortable, the beds and linens cozy. I loved this place, bedrooms are so inviting, and am sad that we weren't able to get it again for our next visit. I would absolutely stay here again when in NOLA. We didn't do a lot of cooking but, did some. While it is not a full kitchen in the traditional sense, it provided everything we needed for quick meals, fresh coffee in the a.m. and reheating some of the great meals we had in town. I blew the power at one point and within literally a minute or two, Elena had us back up. There is a wonderful collection of books and videos to suit anyone's tastes. I just loved the feel of the place and had mad love for the two little dachshunds living in the yard below. We truly had no problems and if and when I return to NOLA I will always look here first. The area felt so safe that we rarely used the private, gated parking. All I can say is if you don't have major cooking needs, this place is ideal and I would highly recommend it to anyone for comfort, location and reliable and easy communication with Elena, the owner. In short, my son and I loved it and we spent most of our time inside, not out on the town. I almost hate to recommend it so highly because I want it available whenever we visit my son in NOLA. Elena has two larger places right across the street with full kitchens. I walked through them and would rent either of them also in a heartbeat.
