2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4), on a unique river beach
About Brad Olsen
I was born in Seattle, and have lived in Baring since 1978. I worked at several ski areas, including closeby Stevens Pass. I currently remodel cabins in addition to owning/managing Sky Beach Cabin. I love the outdoors, hiking, floating the river, camp fires, music, and golf.
Brad Olsen purchased this Cabin in 1978
Why Brad Olsen chose Baring
I love this area not just because I was born here, but also because it is so beautiful year-round. I love the easy accessibility to outdoor recreation - skiing, rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking and fishing.
What makes this Cabin unique
Sky Beach Cabin is unique as it has no-bank access to a rocky/sandy beach that is almost a mile long when the river level is low. Most other cabins in this area are on banks with limited access to the river. Children love exploring the rocky beach and dogs love swimming in the river. During the summer there are sandy coves that make great calm, cold water swimming areas. Easy take-out for kayaks, rafts & tubes. Beach camp fires under the stars. Watch the river go by, the moon rise from behind the mountains, dig your toes in the sand, enjoy the cool river breeze on the occasional hot days protected from the sun by the overhanging tree branches. When the river level is low, sit by the river and listen to the water lap gently on the shore imagining yourself on a tropical beach.

The cabin is cozy and the kitchen well equipped. The view and sound of the river are invigorating. Dogs are welcome within the few guidelines. We were happy with our stay.
Home away from home
All amenities were available even for our pups. This was a super cozy cabin made even more amazing by the sound of the river in back. Definitely will be back!
Base Camp for Hiking Mt Baker National Forest
This place was great after our day hikes, hot tub was clean and water was good. (I'm a Aquatic Facility Operator, so kinda fussy about pools ans hot tubs). Anyway the place was very clean and cozy, kitchen was well stocked we had everything we needed to cook all meals, really enjoyed coffee on the deck with the view and sounds of the river, evenings in the rocking chair reading my book. We definitely would come back. Tried to set my navigation in my 2019 truck when we got to Monroe, but it didn't or wouldn't recognize the address, I still have an old fold up map and was able to find it. The last 1/2 mile of roads to the cabin are; I'll say very, rustic and a little challenging to navigate by signage alone, so do a little research on mapping the final bit of road, we arrived after dark and got a little lost, but we did find it and it was worth the effort... ENJOY!!!!!!
The cabin is charming and the setting could not be more lovely. We enjoyed the hot tub and skipping stones in the river. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Wonderful private property on the water
We loved our stay at Brad's home for our anniversary. The house is right on the water and we loved walking along the river drinking our morning coffee. The hot tub was under a covered porch so we could enjoy it even in the rain. We definitely will be back
Brad thinks of all the comforts.
