'Savannah, where every house is a museum of sorts, every acre a romantic tomb preserving our collective Southern past. In Savannah it is useless to pretend we aren't all connected. And as such, you may as well grab a traveller and come along for the ride".

Beautiful historic loft on River Street with Savannah brick walls and wood floors thru-out encase this upscale modern comfortable home. Eclectic decor, enter this loft from historical (google it) Factor's Walk Alley and you will see from the foyer, large open areas for entertaining as well as your own balcony overlooking River Street and the Savannah River. Private ensuite offers a king bed. Other beds are a Murphy Bed (queen) and a wonderful tempurpedic Sleeper Sofa (queen) in the living area.

Spend hours watching cargo ships and tugboats go by as well as the activity of River Street. It is a favorite place to start your day with coffee or end your day with a glass of wine.

After touring Savannah, come back to the comforts of home. This River Street loft has a beautiful private suite that offers a king size bed and private bath with slate floors and slate shower. A Murphy Bed has a comfy queen mattress and the queen sofa sleeper has a wonderful tempur-pedic mattress as well. There is a second bathroom with a tub/shower combination. For your convenience, there is a full size washer/dryer and ample closet space. TV can be seen from every seat in the living area, however, there are two comfortable chairs w/ottomans great for reading. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals, if you choose to eat in. There is a 42' high definition flatscreen TV with all the premium cable channels for your enjoyment and a flatscreen in the master as well. The loft also has Wifi.

Our guests enjoy complimentary coffee, creamer and sugar, tea varieties, quality bed linens, bath towels and down comforters. Maps, menus and touring information is available for your convenience. For your pleasure, enjoy the local books about the city and history of Savannah.

A very special benefit to this loft is the lack of climbing steps to have a 2nd floor view of River Street and the Savannah River. You enter from the alley side at the front door (5 small steps) but are on the 2nd floor on the river side. This is wonderful for people who don't like climbing stairs or have difficulty with steps. You can enjoy River Street without ever leaving the loft.

You can drive right up to the door to unload your luggage or groceries then park your car in designated city parking spaces. No parking in the alley.

As managers, we work hard to make sure our guests have a memorable getaway, in a good way! We enjoy sharing our loft with guests and especially during honeymoon, birthday, girls weekends, anniversaries celebrations. We work hard to make sure every guest leaves wishing they had booked a longer vacation.

Savannah is 3rd best city to vacation according to Travel and Leisure now. There is no other place like it. Few cities have this kind of history, architecture, gardens and flowers, ghost stories, friendly people, southern charm, museums, theatre, art and the best food. There is something special to see every season of the year. If you have never visited Savannah, make time, you won't regret it. In some ways, Savannah is like traveling back in time. This loft is THE perfect location, has THE perfect view and is THE perfect place to stay when you visit Savannah.

Our guests started leaving us little love notes in the brick mortar. I guess there are hundreds hidden there now. A fun activity to pass the time

inside and feel free to leave us a new note.

What makes this condo unique

There are very few balconies on River Street where you can actually sit. A great place to watch the world go by any time of day or night. We are located in the last privately resided building on River Street. Close to the Port of Savannah provides much to see as the very large cargo ships come into port. So far, we have counted 9 high cargo trailers on these ships. Check out "shipfinders" app which tells you the size, country, what it is carrying, etc on these floating buildings.

We have stayed in Savannah several times and we were doing a long weekend with another couple. We have done Bed and Breakfasts and hotels in the area but were looking something different. This place is an old cotton warehouse that has been converted. A really great room with a great view. Full kitchen and laundry. We arrived, set up bar, walked everywhere we wanted to go and had a great time. And it was cheaper than anywhere else. First rate accommodations and a great location. Great for 2 couples.

Notes:
The entrance to our loft is 4 steps up but has a second floor balcony. For people who have trouble climbing stairs and want to experience River Street, this may be the answer. You can drive right up to the front door to unload luggage and groceries. Parking is not permitted in the alley, however, but there is parking on Bay, the Barnard Ramp and 2 city parking lots within steps of the front door.

Wonderful location, great view of river, very clean, and nicely decorated!

Loved our 4-night stay here. The cleanliness was impressive - I always check the beds and bathrooms before unpacking. The car we drove was small enough to park in the alley by the apartment (safe, didn't block the alley, and no fee) but if we had driven a full-size car or SUV, then we would have had to use a parking garage. We were completely satisfied with location and view. I had concern about the possible noise level upon arrival but it was never a problem.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the nice comments. We are happy you enjoyed our loft. The alley is wide enough to handle my Ford 150 Crew Cab as well as a smaller car so one can drive right up to the front door and unload luggage, groceries but because it is closed off at one end, one cannot drive thru and has to back out of the alley onto the ramp. You just have to do it slowly as there is foot traffic. You cannot park in the alley even if there is room because it is not allowed and you can be towed. We tell guests this when booking. Of course it was on a weekend when parking is free but police do walk the alley and can ticket as well. Also the city is contemplating changing the parking rules and may extend the 5:00pm cutoff to later in the night and eliminate free weekends. I would not recommend parking in the alley due to possible damage to your car from others, towing or parking violation ticket. There is plenty of parking and we provide a parking guide. There are also many parking garages, the closest less than 2 blocks away.

We couldn't have chosen a better, more relaxing, or comfortable place to stay in Savannah. It was absolutely charming and beautifully decorated. Sitting on the balcony, watching the boats and ships go up and down the river while sipping coffee or wine was both a great way to start and end the day. There were so many restaurants along the wharf and we were within reasonable walking distance to many of the other sites of interest too. The owners are super helpful and organized and we will definitely make this our home away from home the next time we visit Savannah.

208 West River Street

Better than anticipated. The loft was beautifully decorated. The location was awesome. Teresa was the best owner to deal with ever for my wife and I. We have been using vrbo and homeaway for hundreds of trips. This experience was the best by far!

Not only was Savannah a great place to visit if you love history but this loft was on the main thoroughfare of the historic district. The balcony overlooked River Street and was right above a great clothing store. We loved that perspective and the view of the river and chitchat of fellow travelers.

Teresa separated herself from other owners by sending out great proactive information and provided great personal followup emails. Her attention to detail and her assurance of any minor issues would be handled was awesome!

We are coming back and we have referred this specific location to dozens of our friends already. There is probably going to be a "Minnesota" connection to the "loft" in Savannah.

In closing; if you love history and you want to be right in the middle of the fun. And you enjoy working with a proactive, informative owner , 208 West River Street is the choice hands down! Thank you Teresa 🤗�😎�

The rental loft was awesome and very close to pubs, restaurants and parking structures.

Construction had just begun down the street and renovation to the apartment next door, so it was a bit noisy at times, but overall, it was a nice trip. Seeing the big ships pass right by, with dolphins leading the way, from the balcony was awesome!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. I remind guests that we are a historical address in the historic district but remember that we are urban as well and like most urban cities, there is likely to be some noise. In the mornings along River Street the trucks come in to bring in supplies to the local restaurants, pubs and stores. There is some construction down the street and we are happy to report that is a Grand Bohemian being built and our guests are going to love having it there. There will be 12 restaurants and beautiful artwork + other amenities we can enjoy for the fraction of their rental rate. It will be beautiful as well working with the history/decor of the old "Power Plant". Who to have as a neighbor but a beautiful Kessler Group property? The renovations next door are very minor and soon to be over very soon. Our bedroom is on the alley side and completely quiet. Our walls are 26 thick made up of ballast and old Savannah Brick. We are one of very few buildings to be constructed of ballast, cobblestones and brick and the only privately resided building on River Street so quite a rare property to rent. Most of our residents live here year round or use as a 2nd home. We are happy you enjoyed your stay and loved our balcony. There is always something to see just sitting there. I think that a lot of what draws people to stay with us is the action on River Street and the convenience of never having to move your car.

Huge loft with river views in a great location.

We had a great stay. The loft was much larger than I had anticipated. It was fun watching the container ships passing by from the living room or balcony. Finding the front door of the unit was a bit tricky, but it ended up being a great location walkable to many restaurants and shops.

If you have never had the opportunity to visit Savannah, make time, you won't regret it. This River Street Loft has 1 master bedroom, 2 bathrooms and sleeps 4 comfortably.
