About Karen Shoemaker
My earliest years were of the small town in Kansas where I was born and have very fond memories. I live in a suburb of Denver full time close to my children and grandchildren and retired from a college library after 30 years. In addition, I very much enjoy and take pride in owning and renting the vacation home.
Karen Shoemaker purchased this House in 1993
Why Karen Shoemaker chose Willow Grove
Summit County is so close to the Denver area. It's only a one-hour drive to the best the mountains have to offer. When the site became available it was an easy decision to buy the land and build. It's all about the views and the convenience of being in the center of it all.
What makes this House unique
Located on easily accessed streets in Silverthorne. Close to the recreation center, shopping, highways 6, 9 and I-70 and yet on a very quiet, secluded street. There are no neighbors behind the property - just the lake, the incredible views and the occasional wildlife that passes through.
Pak-N-Play in the home.
Minimum age of primary renter:25
Max guests:8 (sleeps up to 8 adults)
Maximum 4 cars - 2 in garage, 2 outside Parking is not allowed on the street in Silverthorne.
I'm happy to accommodate guests attending a wedding. The ceremony and reception has to take place at another location, not at the home.
Be considerate of the neighborhood and your neighbors' right to the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of their home and property.

Great location and clean home
Overall the property was great. The location puts you 15-30 minutes from many copper, Breckinridge, vail, and Keystone. The home is very clean and located in a quite neighborhood. The view out the back is amazing and having the pond out back created a nice view for resting outside at night.
The kitchen is well equipped and the grill worked well. Each room was spacious and offered our family some personal space especially with the 3 bathrooms.
The check in process was delayed a bit due to the wrong after hours code but was remedied in less than 10 minutes by the property management company. Karen has good communication as well.
Overall a great place that we would stay at again.
Lovely house in great location!
We'd come back anytime snowy!
Warm and spacious lovely weekend home
We had a beautiful weekend here for 8 people in January... in spite of the cold/windy weather, everyone enjoyed the snowboarding! The home is perfectly laid out, and the 5 queen beds were exactly what we needed. The parking was exceptional for multiple cars - good -sized garage plus plenty of driveway space. We really appreciated the easy access to the kitchen for hauling things in and out, as it's right off the garage and not way upstairs like some places are! We would definitely return again.
We enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for all 12 of us. Karen called to check on us and also followed up after our stay asking us for feedback. I really appreciate the great service. Cindi from MO
Willow Grove was a great experience for our family and provided many lasting memories. Very convenient location close to the center of town. Fantastic view; large, comfortable and cozy rooms which easily satisfied the ten family members; well stocked with all essential items; close proximity to several major ski areas. After skiing, we enjoyed sitting around the fireplace and all played family games. We made liberal use of the gas grill, a really nice amenity! The only issue we encountered was the heating system. The heating vents on the lower level were located in the ceiling; this kept the lower level warm enough, but, the upper level became very warm. After discussing this with the owner, we closed the heat vents upstairs and that solved the problem. Karen, the owner called to welcome us on the first evening, and kept in contact with us both before and after our visit. We sincerely enjoyed our stay!!
Yes, the home is a wonderful, comfortable home with incredible views. It's so beautiful in the summer months too. One can walk to the other side of the lake and get to the Blue River. There is a path along the Blue that's great for hiking, biking or just enjoying the river.
Perfect Trout Trip HQ
Wonderful accommodations for a quick fly fishing adventure. One of those "just right" situations --- perfectly situated and very comfortable with a very warm and inviting feel. The pond in the back was the icing on the cake. Also, the owner could not have been more attentive, friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.
