The cottage sleeps 6 and is conveniently located 7 miles from Highway 441 and 35 miles from Interstate 20; 20 minutes from Rock Eagle 4-H Camp, 20 minutes from Milledgeville; 15 minutes from the Lake Oconee Village; 30 minutes from Madison; 90 minutes to Augusta; and 90 minutes from Atlanta.

The cottage is situated on a 1.35-acre wooded lot in the Crooked Creek Cove area and is known for great fishing. The lot boosts 175 feet of water frontage on a point allowing for the 180 degree views of the lake. You will find a double-boat slip with large deck perfect for sunning and fishing. The dock has a retractable ladder. The dock has recently been updated to include a stainless steel sink, granite counter top, cabinet, and small under counter refrigerator. The community boat ramp is located in our cul-de-sac. The water’s depth at the end of the dock is 6-8 feet with the depth being 25+ feet in the middle of the cove. The cottage boasts a large living area consisting of a kitchen, dinette, and den. The fully stocked kitchen has a gas stove with stylish center island and a panoramic view of the lake. There is no need to bring any additional kitchen or bathroom supplies. We supply everything. Just bring your toothbrush and toothpaste. The master suite has a king-sized bed, master bath, and lake view. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a lake view as well. The third bedroom has two twin beds and a walk-in closet. The rear entrance includes a large area for storage, an extra refrigerator with icemaker, and a washer and dryer.

You can find comfortable touches throughout the cottage. A blender, blow dryer, and Keurig coffee maker with k-cups and other coffee fixings are supplied. You will also find spices, an ice cream churn, a complete bar set, plastic and foil wrap, and dish and laundry detergent. One of the most relaxing things to do when at the lake is to have your morning coffee on the front porch while taking in the 180-degree water view. We highly recommend it. There is something very relaxing about viewing water in a quiet setting while watching at the sunrise. Ducks, geese, and blue heron visit the dock frequently.

If after drinking your morning coffee you contemplate entertainment possibilities you will find many. Provided is a 55-inch Tru LED LCD HDTV. Dish Network Pay-Per-View movies are available for an additional charge. We have added a Blu-ray player with internet apps. Also provided is wireless, high-speed cable internet. Opportunities for sportsmen include fishing, boating, waterskiing, jet skiing, hiking, kayaking, and swimming. For golfers numerous golf courses are located in the area. Guestbook comments from the owner

The house was very nice and clean. We had everything we needed. The welcome guide was very helpful! Your neighbors Jim & Janise were very friendly and let us use their dock & cleaning station. The extras we enjoyed were the flat screen tv & HBO. The water shoes & outside towels was appreciated. Your gas grill was nice too. Tim & Chris

Nice House, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We spent a weekend on the lake at the property and had a great time. The house was as advertised, everything was clean and well maintained. The porch was fantastic...it runs the length the house on the lakeside and since the house sits a little closer to the water than the neighbors, it is very private, with a number of mature trees framing the water view.

It seemed to be a pretty quite section of the lake, making for pleasant mornings and evenings hanging out, but it was also close enough to the main body that we were able to find it from the water while boating with no issues.

The property was also pretty easy to find on land with google maps, and it was very easy to get in and out with am electronic lock on the main door.

We'll definitely consider visiting again!

Loved it! Great Get away.

Great porch overlooking lake. Good size yard to play corn hole/can jam etc. Dock needs repair. Several splinters needed to be dug out after walking on it barefoot. Bring your own chairs for the dock and floats for the water. Great neighbors who helped us out during a thunderstorm:)

Memorial Day Escape

  • 5 of 5

With the kids just out of school and lots of summer camp and traveling with extended family during summer, this was the perfect place to relax before all the madness. The cottage is very nicely updated inside and very comfortable. Well stocked with essentials that you always forget on vacation, buy at the grocery store in bulk when you only need a little. Very quiet area off the main river channel even on holiday weekend. Great for paddling, swimming and fishing. Wildlife at the end of the cove. Friendly neighbors. Only an hour and a half from Atlanta. Milledgeville a short drive to whatever you need with very nice Kroger and a few decent restaurants in little downtown area.

All in all, highly recommended.

Spring Break

  • 4 of 5

Spring Break for the grandkids meant a week of fishing for the whole family at the Claxton cottage on Lake Sinclair. The setting was beautiful with spring flowers in full bloom and the closeness of the lake to the front door was very convenient. The spacious dock and well-kept shoreline was perfect for sitting in our lawn chairs and fishing for hours without getting tired. The cottage was well-appointed and the beds were comfortable. Everything we needed except food was supplied and the cottage was clean. The neighbors on both sides were very friendly and helpful; they were eager to share their fishing success with our family. Our only disappointment was that the weather was not nearly as nice as Mr. and Mrs. Claxton who provided excellent customer service. I would recommend this property to anyone in search of a place to unwind, relax and just enjoy fishing.

Comfortable, Modern Lake House. Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have recently retired and were looking to get away from the cold New England winter for a while and we rented this house for the month of February. While not every day in February was perfect weather, the house was very comfortable and warm. All the appliances are modern (and super quiet when operating). The fishing was great right off the dock, with most of our luck coming from the left side of the dock. White Bass, Hybrids and Largemouth Bass were plentiful even in the cold waters.

The house was stocked with condiments and coffee K cups. The internet was reliable and the TV with Dish service was there if/when you needed it. The king bed in the master was very comfortable and I slept well all month.

There are many options for golf in the area, with Milledgeville CC nearby. The Harbor Club is a few miles further away, but is a real high end treat in a gated community up in Lake Oconee. Beautiful properties and views of the lake abound. Check golf now for deals at both courses. The neighbors were very friendly and we enjoyed spending time with them. We are very satisfied with our stay and will look to rent here again next winter if it is available... But next time I'll haul a boat the 1100 miles it took me to get here to get more access to the lake.
