We LOVED the house and the neighborhood and will definitely look to stay there again. I honestly can't say what we would complain about???....it was a small TV but we honestly didn't have time to watch it so that didn't bother us either! Everything was perfect!
Thanks, Julie, for these great comments for our future guests It was a pleasure to have you all stay with us! Just so you know, a second, larger TV screen is in the works for 2013.
My review comes a little late, but nonetheless, here it goes. This house was everything we expected and more. Plenty of room for my family of 5, plus my mom! The bathtub was a real treat (I've always loved claw-foot tubs!) and the water pressure was amazing! The kitchen had everything you need and then some! It was so close to beach accesses as well! To our surprise, there was even some beach equipment/toys for our use. Mrs. Hughes was excellent! Had everything ready when we got there and called that evening to ensure we got there safely and we had everything we needed. The only complaint I can even mention is that the bedroom in the front of the house didn't have doors that closed and stayed closed. Not really that big of an issue though as there are door stops for you to use to keep the doors shut. We will definitely be staying here again in the future! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
My family has stayed at this house 4 times now over the past few years and we just cannot say enough about how much we love the Blue La Rua and how amazing Mrs. Hughes has treated us. Being a military family, we don't always get to travel to Pensacola much since we are stationed in Virginia or North Carolina most of the time, but when we do we go to this amazing house. Everything you need is here, including a pack and play for your baby. The location is centrally located between Pensacola Beach and NAS Pensacola. We just adore this place and cannot wait to come back again. Thank you so much Mrs. Hughes <3 :)
This house had everything we needed and much much more space then what you can see in the pictures. We would definitely come back to the "Blue La Rua" for our next vacation. All of the furinhings were very beautiful as well.
Stayed at this cute home while in Pensacola for Memorial Day. The place is clean, has plenty of sleeping space, is in a great neighborhood and close to everything. Close enough to the freeway for easy access to Pensacola's attractions. It's very cozy as others have said. The owner was very nice, too. I would definitely stay here again!
Loved that it was centrally located...all the shops and restaurants and even the beach was just a skip and a hop away. The house itself was quite comfortable and so cozy.
Cute little cottage perfect location between base and Pensacola Beach. Positives: Clean, loved the front porch, loved that the coffee was provided so we didn't need to rush right out to grocery store. Negatives: Response time (called the first day we were there and didn't call back for 2 days...luckily it wasn't anything extremely important but she didn't know that). Yard needed work (insect mounds every where and needed to be mowed or weed wacked). Before we came down asked if there was a blow dryer...wish she just said no. The one provided overheated after 5 seconds of use....took 3-4 tries after cool down to get my hair dry and I have short, thin hair. One last thing I didn't care for was the table in the living room. It was uncomfortable after a busy day to come back to the cottage and chill out when two of us could be comfortable sitting on the couch to watch tv and the other had to sit at the table. Feel with the other rooms the cottage has to offer that could be set up better. I stay at a lot of HomeAway properties and this just was not one of my favorites.
