Overlooking Bellingham Bay with an ever changing view to the west. This classic flat has been completely updated yet retains its 100 year old charm. Ten foot ceilings and craftsmen woodwork throughout making this a memorable getaway. Two large casement windows open wide to bring the amazing view right into the living room. Comfortably sleeping 5 with three bedrooms and two baths one featuring a giant tub with a view of the bay. The kitchen features hardwood floors, granite counters and service for up to 9. A large deck with gas BBQ adjacent to the kitchen dining area is great for outside entertaining with a private garden featuring a Koi pond. Located in a quiet semi-residential neighborhood with the Cliffhouse restaurant across the street for a meal out or just cocktails on their deck.
This rather large King crab came to dinner with a couple of his friends when we where visiting our son and his family in Korea. Most of the time we are in Bellingham maintaining the property you see in the pictures. My wife and I live in the downstairs flat.

We have owned this classic home for 17 years and have made the upper flat available as a VRBO property. It took a while to put everything in order but the work has been worth it. The photos tell it all. The flats are completely separate from each other.
We stayed in the Southhill Flat for 10 days and loved every minute of our stay. This stylish craftsmen Flat was bright, cheery, clean, comfortable, spacious and had "killer" views. The owners were accommodating, friendly and helped with any questions we had. The Flat has a spacious deck that overlooks a beautifully terraced back yard and koi pond. Inside the flat was a well appointed and efficiently stocked kitchen and dining area, a large living room with a fantastic view of the bay and the distant mountains.The freshly linened beds and bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The huge tub in the master bath looks out on a spectacular view of the bay. The location was excellent, a short distance from downtown Bellingham and downtown Fair Haven with their many cultural and culinary offerings.
We are already looking forward to our next stay at this beautiful home.
The flat was well appointed, very clean, and the views are outstanding. We really like the location - close to WWU, downtown, and the bus route - and would definitely stay here again.
The Flat on South Hill is a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful location between Fairhaven and Bellingham. We enjoyed walking downtown, even in the freezing temperatures. The outdoor deck and table would be a great place to enjoy morning coffee in warmer weather! The bath under the eaves with the bay view was a special treat. Totally recommended!
We were visiting for a college tour at WWU. It was an easy walk to campus and a longer, but beautiful, walk into Fairhaven. The flat is recently redone with fine attention to detail. We were cozy and comfortable with lots of room to spread out. Great kitchen. Great views.
This place is conveniently located between downtown Bellingham and Fairhaven, nice, clean, quiet, great view, owners are lovely people. Hope to stay there again next time we visit Bham. Highly recommend!! Aloha.
Western Washington University is 2 blocks away with downtown Bellingham and historic Fairhaven equal distance and both easily reached by the interurban trail 2 blocks below by the bay. Lots of parking on the street. The convenience of location makes it easy to get to where you want to go. Take a water taxi to the San Juan Islands from Fairhaven. One hour to Vancouver B.C. or an hour and a half to Mt. Baker or Seattle. You will quickly see Bellingham has unlimited activities to offer with a central hub location.
