Lovely Villa, Peaceful Location - you’ll need a car
Our party was made up of 2 families, so the set up of the villa being 2 separate apartments was perfect.
The villa was easy to find although it is at the top of a pretty steep hill & there are no shops/bars/restaurants within walking distance. So you will definitely need a car. The town of Oliva is only a 5-10 min drive though & there’s plenty to choose from there & the motorway junction is also at the bottom of the hill. Javea is 25-30 mins, Moraira is 40 mins & Benidorm is an hour away. All lovely to visit.
Because of the location, the area is very peaceful except for the neighbours collection of birds & goats. The cockerel, goat and goose seem to have a bit of a competition in the morning but we got used to it quickly & it didn’t bother us.
We had need to contact the agent with a few queries but these were sorted pretty quickly by Petra the cleaner.
Would suggest a couple of things....
The option of a “get you in” pack would be good, maybe for a €10 charge, the basics could be left in the villa, i.e; milk, bread, butter, bottled water. Given that nothing is close by, if guests arrive late at night this would make a difference especially if they have children.
A welcome/info pack would also be useful in the villa. To give info on the facilities at the villa; how to work the WiFi, TV, mini ovens, etc but also suggestions/directions for supermarkets, beach, restaurants etc, info on where to take your rubbish/recycling, contact numbers if there are any issues and check out details.
Electricity is payable on check out and the amount off included electricity I don’t think is enough to even work the pool pump for the duration of your stay so you will have to pay. This was a bit of a surprise for us & we weren’t happy handing cash to the cleaner, but there was no problem for them to deduct it from our deposit. We only used one air conditioner twice in 9 days and chose to use the ceiling fans, but our bill was still €55. We didn’t see the meter start/end figures as they’re locked away but for peace of mind, I’d suggest you do get a look at them when they’re taken on arrival/departure.
Overall a great villa with wonderful views of the mountains on one side and the coast on the other.
Semana Santa 2019
El clima no estuvo de nuestro lado. Desafortunadamente nos llovió mucho. Sin embargo debo comenta que la casa cumple con todas las condiciones que uno necesita y espera. El lugar es seguro y tranquilo. Lo recomiendo.
The house is located in the residential area Tossal Gros, about 2 km to the small town of La Font de'en Carrós and about 2 km to the town of Oliva, which is located directly on the beach.
In the housing estate Tossal Gros there are no opportunities to go out or shop.
It is therefore recommended a car.
