The holiday apartments are situated on a most romantic and unique sandy beach near London. They have been family managed by the owners for twenty years. Part of a 250 year old Georgian Mansion the apartments are comfortably furnished including books, videos and games. Every room has a beautiful view either out to sea and the chalk cliffs or towards the Victorian garden at the back of the house. There is an ever changing scene sea scape with the tides, fascinating sea birds, ships to watch either from the windows or the beach directly in front of the property. You have opportunities to play golf straight behind the house, go swimming, go to the children's play area or play tennis. A good idea is to bring your own bicycles with you. The bicycle paths around this area and some along the beach are breath-taking. All apartments are child friendly and non-smoking areas.

It is a very sunny flat with beautiful sea and beach views. You can see the arch in the chalk cliffs reaching into the sea. The Flat is furnished with the highest standard and located on the second floor. The parent's bedroom and living room overlook the sandy beach. The children's bedroom and kitchen overlook a charming garden. You can prepare your family meal, whilst at the same time watching your children playing on the beach.

About Simone Vince

We are a bilingual family and we found this beautiful property twenty years ago and fell in love at first sight. It is not only picturesque but also historic being linked to the famous Holland Family with interconnections to the famous Spencer and Lennox sisters who descended from King Charles II. King Charles I gave Kingsgate Bay it Royal Title when he landed here on the way to London.

Why Simone Vince chose Kent

When we bought these apartments they showed their former glory but needed upgrading to quality facilities for modern discerning holiday makers. The whole area has also since benefited from the economic prosperity of the South East with excellent new road and high speed rail links. Manston Airport also provides great connections to Europe and the rest of the United Kingdom.

What makes this house unique

Holland Cottage is unique with its direct access to a secluded chalk-cliffed sandy bay. The famous Kings 'Gate' is opposite the house with steps leading to the beach. The chalk cliffs are often featured in tourist promotions for Kent especially the famous Kingsgate Arch. The chalk cliffs are famous for their fossils and rare sea birds nestling in the caves for birdwatching. The cycle path (also named the coastal trail) is ten pedals from the front door.

Great Location for beaches - super comfortable.

We spent a couple nights mid-week at Beach View and had a lovely time. The location is superb, nestled between Joss and Botany Bay, directly across (1 minute walk) from Kingsgate Bay. A perfect location for beach enthusiasts with kids who like exploring. And just a minutes drive from the cafes, pubs and restaurants of Broadstairs,

The accommodation itself was very comfortable with ample space and mod cons. Would definitely recommend it, and hopefully return one day.

Sehr schöne Lage direkt am Meer

Die Ferienwohnung ist wunderschön gelegen, direkt am Meer. Nur ein paar Schritte über die wenig befahrene Straße und ein paar Stufen runter an den Strand... Wir haben den Blick auf das Meer vom Wohn- oder Schlafzimmer und das Rauschen des Meeres bei Nacht genossen.

Die Wohnung ist gut eingerichtet und sauber, das Haus natürlich dem Alter entsprechend mit eigenem Charakter.

London ist recht gut erreichbar, entweder mit dem Auto (wir haben beim O2 geparkt) oder mit dem Zug ab Broadstairs.

Sehr nette deutschsprachige Vermieterin, Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus - auf jeden Fall sehr empfehlenswert.

Aussergewöhnliche Lage

Die Wohnung ist von der Raumaufteilung her für eine 4-köpfige Familie sehr geeignet und war sehr sauber. Das Highlight ist sicherlich der freie Blick über die Bucht und den Strand. Die Wohnung liegt in einem älteren Haus, was zusammen mit der direkten Meereslage wohl zu einer gewissen Restfeuchigkeit führt, welche nie ganz weggeht. Gewisse Möbel sind zum Teil schon etwas älter.

Für Ferien in Kent kann ich die Wohnung nur empfehlen.

Entspannend und idyllisch

Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr gemütlich ausgestattet und sauber. Die Lage ist ein Traum. Über die ruhige Straße und die Treppe hinunter, schon ist man am Strand.

Ein ausgedehnter Spaziergang nach Margate an der Steilküste entlang ist sehr schön. Margate jedoch ist in die Jahre gekommen. Es gibt ein paar nette Läden und Cafés in der Altstadt. Zu empfehlen ist das gemütliche Cupcake Café mit tollen Kuchen, Sandwiches und Tee.

Nach 10 Minuten Fahrt von der Wohnung hat man auch das riesige Shopping-Areal am Ortseingang von Broadstairs erreicht. Sainburys, Tesco, Asda sind dort ebenso angesiedelt wie viele andere Nonfood Läden.

Sicher gibt es auch noch andere kleinere Einkaufsläden in näherer Umgebung.

Simone hat uns gleich am Ankunftstag ein paar Tipps gegeben. Es gibt in der Umgebung einige spannende Ausflugsziele wie Wallmer-Castle oder Deal-Castle.

Sehr sehenswert ist Canterbury. Natürlich darf man Dover-Castle nicht verpassen.

Es lohnt sich für den Besuch der Sehenswürdigkeiten von English Heritage den "Overseas Visitors Pass" zu kaufen.

London ist super mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Wir haben am Millennium Dome geparkt und sind einmal mit dem Thames-Clipper (tolle Fahrt) und einmal mit der U-Bahn in die City gefahren.

Alles in allem ein toller Urlaub, viele Dinge zu erleben und eine Ferienwohnung, die wirklich Freude macht. Danke Simone.

These self catering holiday apartments in Kent are located on the outskirts of Broadstairs. It is a great accommodation right opposite the sandy Kingsgate Bay. Here you will find the sea in front, an old castle (Kingsgate Castle) to your right and a comfortable family pub the Captain Digby to your left. The rear of the holiday apartment is surrounded by the North Foreland Golfcourse, which is overlooked by the nearby North Foreland Lighthouse. The famous surfing and holiday beach Joss Bay is right next to Kingsgate Bay. Broadstairs ( home of Charls Dickens) town centre is in walking distance (about 30 min). You can even walk to Broadstairs along the beach when the tide is out. You can enjoy the sea view from your holiday apartment. Canterbury is about 30min away by car. It is a very beautiful town. To London you can go by train in about 1h 10min.
