Delightful farmhouse villa with 3/4 acre private landscaped garden between Carvoeiro and Benagil. Set in countryside with panoramic sea views and within 10 to 15 minutes walk of two of Algarves most beautiful and secluded beaches, Carvalho and Benagil.

A shop and numerous good quality restaurants are within a short walk (3/4 mile) and further restaurants, shops, golf, horse riding, tennis etc. are within a short drive(3 to 4 miles). Free WiFi is available.

Casa das Amendoeiras is situated on the coast, 10 minutes walk from Benagil, a small fishing village and is approx 3 km from Carvoeiro which has excellent tourist facilities. It is approx. 15 mins drive from Portimao, which is a bustling commercial and tourist centre, & 45 minutes by road from Faro Airport. The villa is approached via double gates and paved drive to a wide parking area for up to 3 cars. It is bounded by open space with pomegranate, almond and fig trees.

The house has an attached studio apartment that sleeps 2 or 3 and is available to rent for £350 per week but only as an addition to the main house.

Jenny and Ian live in Godalming in Surrey and have been visiting this part of Portugal since the mid 1980's.

Jenny is a retired nurse and still doing some voluntary work with Alzeimers and Ian is a semi retired freelance design manager trying hard to balance work with time spent in Portugal.

Had a wonderful stay in this lovely villa. More like staying in someone's home. It made our stay very easy and convenient - we were very comfortable. Loved the pool, table tennis, the outside space. Not far from the beach, easy to get taxis into town and has a great local restaurant. Very relaxing. Thanks

Great venue for family holiday

We had a great time in the house. It is very well equipped and very spacious. The garden is beautiful and the pool is a good size and depth. It is a ten minute walk to Benagil for restaurants but a car is needed to shop for food. Two of the bedrooms share a bathroom and one of them is accessed through the other one, but it has its own door into the garden and then the house. It’s a little disappointing that recycling of glass etc is not available, but that’s a question for local services. Definitely recommended for a family holiday.

Re the glass recycling - point taken we will endeavour to arrange a glass recycling box for use by guests which the cleaner will dispose of from time to time. The Portuguese take recycling very seriously and there are numerous recycling points for paper glass metal plastics etc. Because we are in a semi country location the local council haven't yet located one close to us but they are available in Carvoeiro and Lagoa and on main routes.

A beautiful house in a perfect location.

We throughly enjoyed our stay in the house. It is spacious and nicely furnished. The kitchen is very well equipped and you can find in it everything you may need. The garden is relatively big with a lot of beautiful flowers, and trees. Although it is close to the road, it is still very quiet, peaceful and serene. There is a bit of the ocean view that adds to its charm. The house is perfectly located, in close proximity to shops, restaurants, and beaches. . The housekeeper, Sue, was very helpful and promptly responded to any issue or request we may have had. All in all, a perfect place for a family summer holiday.

Fantastic property, great location - can't wait to return!

Having just returned from the property in Benagil last week...all I can say is that I am very eager to return.

The property is in a great location, is very spacious and has a fantastic pool and had more than enough space for 2 families (4 adults and 4 children).

Everything you need is provided - even beach towels! Suzanne who manages the property is on hand if you ever need her but we never needed to as everything was there.

Ian and Jenny (the owners) have answered any question I had and have been very helpful indeed.

It was our first time to Portugal and we will be back very very soon. The Sur Mar restaurant - 5 mins walk from the house is excellent and so friendly and the pastries at Benagil beach - 10 mins walk away are awesome!

Great choice if you want space, great pool and close distance to fab beaches, water parks and restaurants, but without being overlooked.

Wonderful holiday at this fantastic villa

We spent 2 amazing weeks in this wonderful villa. The location was perfect, as was the weather. The villa is extremely spacious, very well equipped and has a stunning swimming pool and beautiful gardens. We spent much of our time at the villa and enjoyed eating outside on the patio area. We were able to see the meteor shower from the roof terrace which was exciting for our 2 grandchildren. We would highly recommend this villa for families who want a relaxing, 'chill-out' holiday and would love to come back one day.

Sorry Ian and Jenny, we can't suggest any improvements as it was all perfect for us. Thank you both very much.

Overall impression was A! have stayed here for past 7/8years

We have stayed at this farmhouse for many years and simply love it.

The accommodation in parts needs updating, one bathroom in particular.

A lot of the pool furniture needs renewing. But the pool is the main selling point of this

villa and is a wonderful way to relax at end of day, glass of wine In ones hand and watch the sun setting BLISS

The beds need a little getting used to and pillows are an excuse.

But for all its small minuses it's well worth a stay as we will continue to do.

ThIs traditional style villa is set in semi rural location. It is peaceful and the views stunning.

Overall we (a family of 5, children aged 4/11/16) had a lovely holiday and the villa provided us with an excellent base to explore the Algarve. We all returned feeling well rested. We found some beautiful beaches nearby. The children especially enjoyed kayaking and our day at Splash and Slide which was also only a short drive away. The pool at the villa was stunning and a big hit with us all, along with the well kept gardens (and the table tennis). But the equipment around the pool needed some attention and the general cleanliness in the villa was disappointing (plus there was a serious problem with ants in the kitchen).There was also a bad smell in the most modern bathroom that prevented us from using it. The housekeeper was marvellous and provided us with lots of useful local information and resolved any problems we had promptly.

Benagil is a small fishing village,where you can watch the fishermen repairing their nets.They also take visitors to visit the local caves in their brightly painted wooden boats. There are five restaurants & a beach bar.

Benagil beach is a ten minute walk from the villa.

Cavalho is a smugglers beach ten to fifteen minutes walk along a track between fields & common land from the farmhouse.Access to Cavalho beach is through a tunnel with steps in the rocks.

Within a short drive there are numerous other beautiful beaches.

There is a bus route at the end of the drive which goes to Carvoeiro & Lagoa . Rocha Brava, a quiet ,well managed & pretty holiday village, is fifeteen minutes walk away. It has shops, internet cafe, take away, restaurants & tennis facilities . At Vale de Milho, twenty minutes walk away, there is a nine hole, par three golf course.

Carvoeiro is the local tourist town with a pretty beach and huge variety of restaurants ,bars and shops.

Lagoa, just five minutes drive away, is the regional market town which still retaines its traditional Portuguese atmosphere . It has a large leisure centre which has fitness facilities and a large indoor swimming pool, art galleries, shops, banks & restaurants.

Silves which is about twenty minutes drive away, was the original moorish capital of the Algarve. It has a castle & large church and numerous tourist attractions and well worth as visit if you have time .Silves town is also accessible by river from Portimao at certain times of the year.

Within a short drive there are two slide & splash water centres & Zoomarine, a well run and interesting aquatic centre.
