Apartment "Zur alten Schmiede"

New apartment with large roof terrace and views over meadows and fields.

Do you like to hike, love to ride a bicycle or do you want to welcome your dog? Great, we look forward to seeing you.

Our 68 sqm apartment has 2 bedrooms, a spacious living / dining area with fireplace, open kitchen and a fully equipped 35 sqm south-facing roof terrace. The apartment is located in a renovated farmhouse with courtyard. We as hosts live in the ground floor of the house. The two residential units are completely separated. The private entrance to the apartment can be reached via an external staircase.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout your stay.

The open plan living area offers a fireplace for the colder days and a direct exit to the beautiful roof terrace. Here you will find plenty of seating and 2 sun loungers for a relaxing sunbathing with a view of nature.
The completely new kitchen includes a dishwasher and a stove with induction hob everything you need: toaster, kettle, coffee maker (Senseo), everything is there. There is also a dining table, a sofa and a TV in the open plan living area.
The two bedrooms each have a double bed with new mattresses. An extra bed for a baby or toddler would have plenty of room in both bedrooms.
The bathroom was also completely renovated in 2018 and offers high quality equipment.

A parking space for your car is available.

That's our pleasure. In the adjoining cross-border nature park Maas-Schwalm-Nette run 9 premium hiking trails awarded by the German Hiking Institute, 2 of them directly through Nettetal. The varied flora and fauna thrills in every season.

Whether for inexperienced or professionals, around the Nettetaler Lake District is the right tour for every cyclist. The nature reserve around the Krickenbecker lakes is one of the most beautiful and varied nature destinations in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Kurztrip Niederrhein

Ich bin mit zwei Freundinnen in meiner alten Heimat gewesen, um ihnen den Niederrhein und Teile des Ruhrgebietes zu zeigen. Die Ferienwohnung lag ideal für unsere Tagesausflüge, war sauber und gut ausgestattet. Es wäre aber schön, wenn es noch 1 oder 2 Sessel gäbe - zusätzlich zum Sofa - um abends gemütlicher beisammen zu sitzen. Die Vermieter waren freundlich und sehr nett und standen jederzeit bei Fragen/Wünschen etc. zur Verfügung (während ihrer eigenen Arbeitszeit dann telefonisch). Obwohl sie zum Zeitpunkt unseres Aufenthaltes eine größere Baustelle in ihrer Privatwohnung hatten waren sie immer gut gelaunt und entspannt. Auch bei unserem Besuch gab es die bereits erwähnten Probleme mit den Abflüssen im Bad, die immer mal wieder - unterschiedlich intensiv - müffelten. Allerdings war es nie so dramatisch, wie in anderen Bewertungen erwähnt. Inzwischen hat man den Grund - wegen der Baumaßnahmen in der eigenen Privatwohnung - wohl gefunden und wir hoffen, dass das Problem jetzt behoben werden kann. Das einzige wirkliche Manko: die recht enge Wendeltreppe zur Dachterrasse über die man zur Wohnung kommt. Mit sperrigem Gepäck, für ältere Menschen oder aber auch für große Hunde ist sie vollkommen ungeeignet. Solange der geplante Ersatz noch nicht fertig gestellt ist, sollte zumindest ein Foto der Treppe in der Bilderglerie erscheinen - dann ist man etwas "vorgewarnt". Rundherum aber ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt bei einem sehr netten Ehepaar!

Empfehlenswerte Ferienwohnung mit einer großen Einschränkung

Wir waren im September 2023 als Familie mit zwei Kinden und Hund für eine Übernachtung in dieser Unterkunft. Die Wohnung wurde liebevoll saniert und eingerichtet, auch wenn die eine oder andere Arbeit im Detail noch nicht ganz vollendet scheint. Wir hätten uns hier sicherlich auch über einen deutlich längeren Aufenthalt sehr wohl gefühlt, wenn nicht dieser unerträgliche und intensive Kanalgeruch wäre, der im offenen Wohn-/Essbereich allgegenwärtig ist. Hier scheint etwas Grundlegendes im Bereich der Abwasserinstallation schief gelaufen zu sein. Da hilft leider auch die laut Aussage der Vermieterin bereits durchgeführte Ozonbehandlung nichts. Etwas fehl am Platz wirkte die vermeintliche Verwunderung der Vermieterin über die Geruchsbelästigung innerhalb der Wohnung. Überraschend konnte unsere Erfahrung aufgrund der Intensität des Geruchs für sie nicht sein. Dass ein Objekt mit einem solch gravierenden Mangel überhaupt als Unterkunft angeboten wird, finden wir sehr schade.
