Overview

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, sleeps 4 (2 adults,2 kids)

Just a 14 minute drive from the brink of Niagara Falls! Our 'hoblet' has the look of a woodsy cabin, but is spacious and modern. 600 sq. feet in total with a large studio living room, separate bedroom and a bathroom with a built in 2 seater far infrared sauna. Outside is viewed through 5 sets of double glass patio doors & 3 skylights. The "hoblet" is self catering with dishes, linens, towels and basic kitchen staples, e.g. tea, coffee, spices etc.. The green living roof is very special. Your 'yard' is a hardwood forest with a small stream running through. Beautifully landscaped out in the country yet only 15 minutes from the brink of the falls with emphasis on nature and good energy. On site and for your viewing is our equine rescue, home to 7 donkeys, 1 mule, 2 pot belly piggies, and 2 wonderful, friendly little goats, (3 dogs). Your rental is completely private from the main house, has its own driveway with a delightful walk through the trees and past the 'circle of elements', a great fire pit with boulders encompassing that space.

Wonderful walks by the forest, ponds, & stream all help to create a very special energy in and around the 'cabin'. Your host, Petra, has received the Ambassador of Tourism Award from the Canadian government during her eight years as a professional tour guide in Niagara Falls, now Petra spends her free time looking after the donkeys and animals, and her guests. Please see our website for more photos of the 'space' and the surrounding area, as well as more info and details. We look forward to meeting you!

For our guests staying 3 nights or more, a 'Meet and Greet with the animals is included (upon request, weather permitting) with your stay. Spend some one on one time with your favorite donkey. The emphasis is on nature - enjoy the views and the animals. Please be advised that children must be a minimum of six years of age (for staying at the hoblet).

PLEASE BE ADVISED OF OUR STRICT CANCELLATION POLICY. There is only the one "hoblet". We strongly recommend you purchase cancellation insurance so you are protected in the event you cannot travel.

About petra at Natures Energy Centre

I have over 8 years experience as a professional tour guide in Niagara Falls. And a proud recipient of the Ambassador of Tourism Award from the Canadian government. We share our 'space' with 3 dogs, and 7 equines, 2 pot belly pigs named Sheldon and Shpeck, and 2 little, sweet goats; Monty and George. We are passionate about animal welfare, and preserving nature. Having lived and worked in seven countries and traveled extensively, I believe my husband and I have come to understand what our national and international guest appreciate and expect in their travels. We look forwarding to helping you see all the Niagara Peninsula has to offer, there is so much more than just the falls. (Plus our tricks of the trade can help you save money, time and aggravation).

Why petra at Natures Energy Centre chose Niagara Falls

Avoid the hustle of hotels and the commercialism. Its all there for you when YOU want it, a short country drive away. Enjoy the energy of the forest and nature and at the same time your patronage helps provide the care and welfare of the rescued animals on site (as well as any other rescue situations that come our way). Be a part of it 'all' in so many different aspects than the everyday traveler experiences now a days. We are unique!

What makes this cabin unique

For more photos, and a 'feel' for what we have created please ask about our website - truly a retreat, a center of Natures Energy, yet all the modern comforts and facilities, and so much more! Even the locals come for a visit.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Arriving at The Hoblet was exactly what we needed. We loved the feeling of having our own little space nestled in the woods. A little bridge and walkway with animals to greet us for our stay and early rise. Having an Infrared Sauna in the comfort of our own room was a special treat to say the least. The circle of stones surrounding a fire pit was an excellent way to wind down our night. This is a very beautiful place to relax, unwind, detox and be in nature. I would recommend a stay at The Hoblet to anyone interested in doing just that. Glad we found it and will be staying here again the next time we are in Niagara.

Amazing and the Best!!

  • 5 of 5

My first visit to the hoblet surpassed my expectations.

Somehow Petra and Mush seem to know what you want before even you know it . I couldn't have been more pleased with the service I received, or the beautiful, spacious place we stayed at. Just loved the sauna and animals. My boyfriend couldn't get his hands off the goats and donkeys as they were amazingly loving.

It was incredible. We sat outside on the cozy chairs and enjoyed the sunset and bird sounds. Petra and Mush made our anniversary the best memory.

We really did feel welcomed in a way that is very rare. This is one place I would come back to again, and again, and again. Thank you again Petra and Mush! ♥♥

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your kind review. We truly enjoyed having you both. Ahh to be young again! The future is bright with young adults such as yourselves coming up the ranks and taking charge! Hope to see you again....the fire pit is still waiting and I found the stargazing map book. All the best to you both

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at the Hoblet. Petra is a great hostess and we felt very comfortable in the clean and cosy cottage. It was fun to see the animals greet us as we went out on our adventures. This is a good central location with a short drive to the various Niagara communities. We hope to return someday soon.

Beautiful Property and Amazing Host!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at The Hoblet was nothing short of wonderful! My husband and I appreciated being "disconnected" while still being within 10 minutes of major grocery stores. Our host, Petra, did everything in her power to ensure we had an amazing stay! Upon arrival, the property was VERY clean. Petra had even set out tons of flyers and info pamphlets for nearby activities. We reserved for 6 nights and felt like we had hardly any time for it all! During our stay, we had quite a bit of snow (not something we get back in Texas). Petra checked in with us to see if she can grab us anything from town since we haven't been used to driving in weather like this. The sauna was amazing and we appreciated the movie library for our nice, snowy nights in. I also cannot forget about George and Monty and all of the other animals! Every time our front door opened so we could leave, they would run up to the gate facing towards us so we could pet them and give them attention! Overall, we were highly impressed by The Hoblet and encourage everyone to stay here! We're already planning our next trip for Fall!!

Exactly what we were hoping for

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful place to just getaway and relax. Very close to any needed amenities. Petra and Mush absolutely wonderful. Their extended family was also very welcoming and very willing to be friends. We had the pleasure to be the first guests to meet Groot and Grisle. Nice additions to the gang. Petra could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Made us feel right at home. Accommodations were fantastic just as advertised, we needed nothing more. Great place to relax, rewind and forget. Next visit and there will be one has to be longer as it was more than we expected. Thank you for the wonderful relaxing experience and Best wishes to Petra,Mush and the gang.

Thank you for the warm welcome and the opportunity for my children to enjoy being outside - the goats and donkeys are magic. They make cold weather disappear and being outside a treat. .

Beyond Expectations

  • 5 of 5

I can’t say enough about The Hoblet. We stayed from 15-17th for a brief wkd get away. It truly felt like being up north, away from it all. Petra, Mush as well as all the critters made it feel incredibly welcoming, but still very private at the same time. I cannot wait to stay again and would love to see how different it is in the sunmer months. Thank you so much for having us. I will be telling everyone about The Hoblet.

As we rescue donkeys (and 'anyone' else in need, our latest arrival is Sheldon the pot belly pig) we find our guests enjoy the spirit of the animals. Included in a 2 (or more) night stay is a 'meet & greet' with the animals. One on one time and supervised by ourselves to introduce you to the animals that have found a home here. Groom them, hear their stories, and learn what is involved in taking in an animal. Many of our guests have commented on learning information about certain animals that has effected their decision on which animal would fit in their situation and which would not. Great photo time as well. This feature is totally optional. Some our guests barely have time to see all the sights in the area. When you check it just let us know if you would like to schedule a 'meet & greet'..

Also your hostess, Petra, is a certified hatha yoga instructor, if you wish to do a private class while here call for details, a 90 minute private one on one class for your party is $30.00 (Cad)
