About Colette Zygmont
I bought this house when I was single, when it was a 2 bedroom/2 bath house. My chiropractic practice is on S.Lamar and in the style of keeping life simple, I wanted a house in 78704. When I walked into this house, it spoke to me. The house oozes comfort with the perfect mixture of space and class. I kept adding on to the house, expanding the inside and outside as children were added to the mix. There is also a significant focus on green building design as the house is solar-electric and has a tankless hot water heater. The studio on the 3rd floor has its own Japanese Fujitsu ac/heat unit.
Colette Zygmont purchased this House in 1994
Why Colette Zygmont chose Zilker
I fell in love with this house in 1994 when I bought it for myself and lived there for 15 years and am finally moving on and choosing to share it with many rather than sell it. I chose this house based on the unique lay out and huge kitchen/great room. (800 sq.ft) I love cooking and entertaining and this spread is perfect for that. The original house was built in 1932 and has beautiful original wood floors and lots of light from many windows including stained glass windows in the living room. The addition, built in 2002 by my brother, added 3 more bedrooms and a yoga/meditation studio. (also sleeps two who prefers star gazing) The new addition has 2500 sq. ft of gorgeous maple floors, antique glass tile and Mexican travertine tile in the bathrooms. This house is nestled in 78704, the quintessential hip Austin neighborhood...walking distance from Barton Springs and the hike and bike trail around Lady Bird Lake as well as the Greenbelt, Austin's unique inner city trail system perfect for hikers and mountain bikers. It is also walking distance to a super cool kava bar that also serves coffee and the Juiceland as well as all the restaurants on Barton Springs Rd. The Alamo Draft House (an Austin must) is just 5 minutes the other direction and now, also walkable, is High Ball, an adult karaoke venue and bar. Enjoy!
What makes this House unique
This house delights all visitors. There cannot be a more wonderful place for family gatherings because of the gigantic kitchen and variety of things to choose from. Because of the house's size, many people can be doing many different things and give each other space to spread out and relax. It has a third floor tower room that has views of downtown, which is a great place to watch fireworks on July 4th. Everything about the house spells E N T E R T A I N I N G.

Perfect family spot
Our family stayed at this house for my daughter's wedding, allowing us lots of time to re-connect outside of the wedding activities. It was perfect. The bedrooms are spread out around the house, allowing a lot of space for the late sleepers without being disturbed by the early risers. The kitchen/dining/family room area is the main gathering space, and it was ample for all of us to sit together and share some great family memories. For those who wanted a little more privacy to take a call or read a book, there are other sitting areas as well. Wifi worked great. Colette was more than accommodating and very easy to work with. We had a wonderful stay. And the wedding was beautiful! A great weekend all the way around!
The house was great! Big rooms, great back yard and close to everything!
Our family stayed here for my daughters graduation from UT. It is at a wonderful location. Close to Zilker Park and downtown. The house is big with privacy for all. The back patio was a huge hit. I recommend this house to any group. We even walked down the road to restaurants and night life.
Huge congratulations to the Graduate! And so glad the house worked out for you. I got the new AC unit in the nick of time. They were finished at noon on the day of your arrival. : )
Perfect location and house for the full Austin experience
The location right near Zilker Park and Barton Springs makes enjoying all the beautiful hills, water and sporty activities very easy. Location is an easy walk to a number of great restaurants, enjoying a true neighborhood stroll along the way. House was well appointed and we had everything we could need. Thanks again!
Thank you for making it easy for me since I was out of town during your visit. So glad that you had a wonderful stay and that the weather cooperated.
Great place for a family gathering
This place is unique and had plenty of space for 10 of us! We had a great time and it was close to everything!
