Clean and Convenient
Loved the hospitality of food and drinks in the fridge! A/C worked well during a really hot week. The location is convenient for Subway travel. Great patio on the roof with views of the city! It was perfect for this family of 6.
Very cute and comfortable apartment. The outdoor patio is a very nice touch with a great view. The neighborhood feels safe, and has very easy access to the train and subway which was a very huge plus for us since we are not used to this kind of metro commute. When we didn’t feel like going into Manhattan, we shopped in the area and ate. Plenty of dinner options and stores in the area if you need groceries or daily toiletries. Apt owners were very accommodating and accessible if we had the dumbest questions. Would stay again.
Beautiful view from the roof patio!
The condo was stocked with food and drinks. The owner emailed during our stay to ensure we had every we needed.
Beautiful apartment with fantastic views
We stayed at Thomas and Brianna's apartment for five days to attend our daughter's wedding in Brooklyn. The apartment was brilliantly located in a great diverse area with great connections to the airport and Manhattan by bus and subway. The fridge was full of essentials and goodies. There was every utensil you could need. The rooms were great and the views from the terraces were fantastic. The only downside was the inconsist wi-fi. You lost it if you moved from the computer which was also provided at the apartment.. That said we were all happy with it and access to the crepes and smoothies from the cafe on the ground floor. Loved the apartment and the area.
This rental was disappointing on several levels. First, and foremost, the three flights of steep stairs were a real nightmare to navigate with luggage, or even to have to climb up and down several times a day, especially when it was in the mid-nineties outside. The owner should have a warning on the website about this situation. There is a note in one of the reviews, but not everybody is going to read the reviews, especially when the apartment is rated "wonderful." The apartment itself is very spartan, with minimal furniture and decor. The internet was very sporadic and slow and really annoying to have to log in every time we tried to use it. The neighborhood is pretty seedy and rundown. We were warned by a local deli owner not to walk on the streets at night lest we be robbed, mugged or worse. We weren't able to utilize the rooftop deck due to the heat (not the owner's fault, of course) but disappointing never the less, since that was the prime impetus for our rental. Rather than the "10 minutes to Manhattan" as claimed on the website, it actually took an hour or more to midtown on the subway. The bottom line is that we ended up leaving two days early for all of those reasons.
After reading this review The Mulzac Family was taken aback by your negative comments regarding your stay at our vacation rental. We would love to use this as an opportunity to address all of your comments.
1. Regarding the Stairs: Prior to your booking, we did let you know that this apartment is located on the third floor and is a walk up. I also stated that because of this it may not be suitable for some seniors or handicap. From there is it up to you to decide if you would like to proceed with booking the apartment or not.
2. Regarding the Decor: We pride ourselves on decorating in a manner that feels neutral and inclusive, yet aesthetically pleasing for most people. Home decor and style is a personal preference and we don’t think it’s fair to criticize our decor based on your personal liking. Lastly, all the photos and videos accurately reflect what the apartment looks like. Again, after reviewing the photos it was up to you to decide if you would like to proceed with the booking which you did.
3. Regarding the Wi-Fi: Any problems or concerns you may have had could have been addressed immediately had you contacted us at the number we provided via email and in your ‘Welcome Letter’.
4. Regarding the Neighborhood: Our vacation rental is located in a very diverse area in Brooklyn. This area has more vacation rentals than any other area in Brooklyn.
5. Regarding the Rooftop & Weather: Are you serious?! As you stated, quote (it was too hot for us to use the roof deck) it is not our fault and we do not control the weather, therefore this comment should have not even been mentioned, period.
6. Regarding the Train to Manhattan: During the time of your stay, the A and C train lines were experiencing extreme delays due to track repair. Again, we have no control over that.
We are sorry that you left unpleased with your stay. We hope that you realize that almost every issue that you stated was overly embellished or out of our control.
Amazing views from rooftop!
The place was perfect for our party of 6 (4 adults/2 teens). It was fully stocked with everything you need, even the fridge! I thought that was very thoughtful to include fresh eggs, milk, bacon, and drinks (including beer)! The place was clean with lots of room to hang out. Loved the outdoor patios! There was a private patio from the upstairs room and 2 more outdoor patios on the rooftop. Amazing views in the morning and night especially with the provided telescopes in the living room and rooftop!
Only thing we wish we would’ve known was that there are 3 very long and steep flights of stairs to get to the apartment and circle flight of stairs to the upstairs bedroom so be cautious if you have a lot or big luggages to carry! Good thing my elderly parents decided not to come. They would not have been able to make it up and down those stairs everyday. Not recommended for elders or anyone with knee issues or having trouble going up and down stairs. It was very difficult and a struggle for my older sister who suffered from joint arthritis in the knees and lower back. Another thing, the WiFi only reaches certain areas of the apartment.
Other than that, loved the convenient location! It was located nearby a small 24 hour grocery store and the subway which we took everywhere. Highly recommend purchasing the 7 day unlimited Metro card when traveling on the subway. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it for future guests! Thank you Thomas and Brianna!
