Thank you so much for making our stay here so wonderful! Laura, the caretaker, is a gem and made us feel so welcome. I only left twice in the two weeks that we stayed here. We enjoyed the lovely paths through the woods and hope they will be extended by next visit, if we are so lucky. Everybody loved the books. Lovely lake, eagles, osprey, loons, great blue herons, humming birds, an impressive 2ft snake and mushrooms galore!
You have simply thought of everything to make our stay a memorable delight and we thank you!
We very much enjoyed our stay! The home itself was very comfortable for two families to stay. We rented a pontoon so could enjoy the entire lake & all it has to offer! Small ant problem in kitchen and refrigerator water dispenser leaked. They need Some new frying pans for the stove & more large bowls for serving food. Otherwise , well equipped! This end of the lake we found more buggy. All-in-all a beautiful home with a very responsive caretaker! Wifi was sketchy & unreliable at times. There's also only one small tv in family room, not a large screen. Also basement not finished, pool table is not regulation it's much smaller.
The lake house is simply beautiful and the photos do not do justice. Every visitor we had marveled at the interior of the house and the surroundings. The lake is literally steps away and the kids love to run down the little path to the small beach. They also built a fairy house in the backyard and left a slug to guard it against bad guys until their return. My wife and I really enjoyed the peaceful nature of the property and we hardly left the property during our weeklong stay. It is a perfect getaway for family vacation and we are already talking about coming back next year. On top of everything the owner is very responsive to our inquiries and the manager maintained communication via text throughout our stay. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the natural beauty of Maine.
My family loves this place
We rented the Cobbossee Lake House for the week of July 4th and it was perfect for us. The house is as beautiful as you see in the pictures, it's nicely secluded with no nearby neighbors, it is situated right on the lake and has a great dock for swimming and sunbathing. We had two girls 11 and 12, and a 14 year old boy with us. They loved swimming there. The water is beautiful and clear. We got exercise by swimming across to one of the nearby islands; probably 1/4 mile there and back
The birdwatching is fabulous: golden eagle, osprey, loons, and many I couldn't identify. The loons are incredible; I didn't know they made so many different sounds. And the osprey has a nest on an island just a short distance from the cabin so you see him frequently.
There are plenty of largemouth and smallmouth bass, and some pike. Beautiful fish. I caught some nice ones and lost a 5-6 pounder. He was towing me around a bit in my kayak. I caught a nice one of several pounds just off the rocks near the dock.
We brought our own Kayaks and it was easy to get them to the water. We left them at the water the entire time.
We didn't use the pool table. It's in the basement, which also contains a bedroom, but it's very musty. We had plenty of room and fun upstairs. There's a great table in the living room for doing puzzles.
I would definitely rent this place again!
My family and I spent a wonderful vacation at the villa on the lake for the second time this summer. The scenery is amazingly beautiful, if you love nature that is! It's a great place to be away from 'it all'.
The house is unique, has a very good atmosphere and offers plenty of comfort: from the kitchen to the bedrooms, and everything in between. One special thing for me and my wife was the view on the lake from the master bedroom and the bathtub. The property offers a small private beach and a long dock where we moored our boat. For me, I loved the fire pit where we had many a camp bbq and campfire at night.
We will definitely be back next summer, our reservation is in. Highly recommend this property!!
