Enjoyed our stay
We enjoyed our time here. We all had plenty of room to stretch out and everyone loved their beds. Kitchen was very well stocked (except no dish soap, kinda strange). Great location for enjoying Yosemite. Beautiful sunsets.
We went in July and it was very, very hot in the afternoon, with no reprieve. We appreciated all of the fans, though they did little to cool us off. Not complaining, we know it's unreasonable to expect air conditioning in a cabin such as this, just want to inform. Also beware, the bugs were relentless (as they are in the mtns). We could only enjoy the deck one night because we were all covered with mosquito bites (maybe suggest citronella candles?). Also, the driveway is sketchy - very steep and narrow. The first time we backed out, we missed by a couple inches and our car dropped off the edge the last few feet. We landed with a large bang, but the hitch took most of the force. Again, just be careful.
We would probably stay here again, just being a little more informed about certain things.
The location was great but the house was not worth the money we paid for it. . The Wi-Fi did not work at all which was a huge disappointment. Also, it was so warm when we were there and with no air conditioning, it would’ve been nice if there were screens on all the windows so we could open them. Also the ceiling fan in the living room didn’t work so it was very stuffy in the house.
We wish you had contacted us about the WiFi issue and we could have helped with troubleshooting. The house has 2 separate Wifi systems so that you have access to a back up system in the event one of the providers has issues. Both services are satellite based sytems (the only internet service available in this remote area). Not sure about the window screens you referred to - we believe that all of the windows have screens, but we will check to see if any were recently missing. Because of the home's location at 6000 feet elevation, it is unusual to have days warm enough that air conditioning would be warranted, but it happens occaisionally and we have many fans available in the home for guest use including ceiling fans in 2 of the bedrooms and many free standing floor fans.
Well-equipped and clean home. Easy access to Yosemite’s popular attractions.
Owners Eric and Jesse are very helpful. Lots of advice. Tips on where to get groceries and where to start our park touring. Quick responses to emails and phone calls. Lovely home. Hot tub a great bonus. Clean. Kitchen well-stocked with pots, pans, etc. We had great fun with chess, checkers and the pool table too. Could use mirrors inside the bedroom doors so that bathrooms can be freed up for others to shower. Bedroom with the king needs one of the electrical outlets repaired. Plugging and unplugging hairdryers, curlers, etc,. was a challenge. Also, washing and drying towels before leaving was hard. We all wanted morning showers before our 9:00 am departure. Doing towel laundry made things stressful. Finally, needed muscles to open some of the older windows. Some screens missing or torn.
Great location, comfortable home
The home came fully equipped and was comfortable for 6 guests. Kitchen in good order, no need to bring additional equipment. Spa great after a long day of hiking. Only issue we experienced was very limited Internet service. If you want to get away from it all this works, if you need to stay connected it may not provide that.
The house was quite lovely. We enjoyed it immensely.
Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us. We spent a wonderful 3 days with our family there.
Mid-May Springtime Delight
Our three generation mini-reunion was quite comfortable in the Chalet. The location was just right for all the various sites. We used the hot tub several times and the pool table was great entertainment too. It was well equipped as well. (minimun cutlery for a full house however) Definitely would return.
