Truly cozy! Snow was shoveled upon our arrival and everything was ready to go. We were there on a weekend with outside temps ~10 degrees and the home was a little drafty but the fireplace and large supply of cut wood on the porch kept us warm.
Every detail of the "Cozy Cabin" was perfect! We enjoyed our stay in the woods on the grounds of the stable so much! The beach is close. The horses added some country charm. We took a trail ride from the stable as well. So much fun. Totally love the stone fireplace in the living room. The home was well stocked and spotless, We will be back as soon as possible!
A "Cozy (and spotless) Cabin" is exactly what I found upon entering this property. I was looking for a quiet space to get away for a few weeks and this fit the bill perfectly.
The place was well appointed with everything I needed and I took advantage of the stables and took a ride on one of their great horses. There are some really good restaurants nearby, most notably, Trattoria Tonelli about 15 minutes away in Michigan City
I will definitely be back soon.
Charming and cozy cottage with everything you need for a getaway! Decorated with details that made it feel like a real home and it was immaculate when we arrived. This was our second stay and both times were wonderful. Just over a hour from Chicago but felt like it was worlds away. Situated in a woodsy area directly across from a horse stable. Short drive to the lake for beach walks. Kitchen is fully equipped and close to restaurants and shopping. The owner was easy to reach and helpful when we had questions.
We will definitely be back!
Our stay was great we had a good time, but as for the cabin, it was like it hadn't been used for a long time. Landscaping was unkepted, spider webs all over the place. Back doors were so covered in spiderwebs you could tell they hadn't been used in a long time. The place has a lot of potential, but it needed some upkeep and some general maintenance that was well-needed.
This cabin is on the grounds of a riding stable and a short walk to the beach on Lake Michigan. Close to shopping and great restaurants, parks, etc.
Other Activities: mini golf, boating, shopping
Ski: There is a 4.5 mile trail for cross country skiing, or head to our 40 acre meadow just down the road.
