Overview

About the property

Romantic, fully equipped cave holiday flat in unique nature.

Metamorphosis - It dances a Bi Ba Butzemann ...

Take the word butterfly. To use this word, it is not necessary to lift the voice or to equip it with small, dusty wings. It is not necessary to invent a sunny day or a field of daffodils. It is not necessary to be in love.

There is the word and there is the butterfly. Tell you to love butterflies more than anyone else. It is not strange for you to hover, to rise, to free flowers, to symbolize beauty and frailty, or to somehow embody a butterfly.

Never try to leave the ground when you are talking about flying. Never look into your eyes when you are burning with love.

If you want to impress when you talk about love, put your hand in your pocket or under your dress and play with you.

If ambition and hunger for applause have driven you to talk about love, you should learn how to do it without insulting yourself or the material.

Say the words, pass the data aside.

Everyone knows that there is pain. You can not tell the audience everything you know about love in any language you speak. Go aside and you will know. What is our need? To be close to the natural WOman, to be near the natural WOman. There is no stage left. There are no other headlights. You belong to the native, the more natural.

Say the words, pass the data aside. Be yourself.

The people of Barranco Hondo know all the risks of climbing. You honor it by keeping it self-evident. Tell them something about the height of the mountain, the equipment you used is specific about the surfaces and the time it takes to scale it. It is justified in the statistics and not in the tremor of the voice or the cutting of the air with your hands. It will be in the data and quiet organization of your presence.

Do not be afraid to be weak. Do not be ashamed of being tired

You look good when you're tired. You look like you can go on forever.

You are the image of beauty. Make your metamorphosis!

The cave "La Mariposa", in the north of Gran Canaria at 1020 m altitude. Back in beautiful nature.

Do you expect:

One of the best afterthimmel you've ever seen in your life.

Beaches and fishing villages by car about 35-50min, depending on where you go. Exceptional swimming and diving guaranteed.

Fishing at La Presa De Los Pérez.

Guanches, who are glad to explain their world.

The Risco Caído and the Sacred Mountains of Gran Canaria, an astronomical heritage (and world heritage in late progress).

The first mighty mountain of the Biosphere Reserve Tamadaba.

Excellent hiking and cycling (also with moto or e-bike) right in front of the cave.

Historic villages and testimonies of centuries-old ways of life

This is a really exciting place. It is a full and spacious cave with 4 open bedrooms like caves in a cave, a large and extraordinary cave bathroom, a lovely terrace and a charming kitchen. Inside the cave you have a constant temperature of 20 °, nevertheless we have a heating. Whatever the weather is, the cave itself is completely air-conditioned.

There is also a grill integrated into the cave wall and a small lovely garden.

Barranco Hondo de Abajo is the village in the mountains, primordial, charming and secret, representative of the original lifestyle hundreds of years ago until today. If we leave the most bustling areas of the coast, we can find the people who are very interesting to the traveler, who are looking for a different part of this small continent, after places with a special atmosphere, magical aspects and behind every mountain.

We are located in the center of:

Presa de los Pérez

Artenara, Tejeda, Pico de las Nieves, Roque Nublo ...

Risco Caído

Juncalillo

Secret paths, secret beaches

The village itself is the origin of Gran Canaria, basis for any type of scouting. Of course we have electricity. The water is drinkable and in public hand, unique on the island.

There is also a nice supermarket in the village with products directly from the fields and animals of the area. La Mima and El Santiago look forward to welcoming you and offering you very reasonable prices for food and drinks as well as traditional hot meals.

Unique and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

The place was really unique and comfortable. The host always present to help. The internet a bit slow, but this is a romantic cave, not an internet cave. Close to mountains and beautiful valleys, cozy small town and relaxed people. Remember to visit the local bar. The wine is not good, but the company is :-)

Friggin' awesome!!

  • 5 of 5

We can't say enough good things about our experience in that delightful cave way up in the montanas of Gran Canaria. The guys who own/run it are lovely people who did everything they possibly could to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves, and the area itself is spectacular. Yes, the drive up from the coast may not be for the very feint of heart, (windy mountain roads and the like) but after a day or two you'll come to realize it's really nothing at all. Once you arrive you'll find the drive was well worth it. We don't have enough good things to say about our time at the Mariposa. Needless to say, we highly recommend it. How often do you get to stay in a f'n cave, after all!

Casa preciosa en un valle con encanto. Excelentes anfitriones

  • 5 of 5

El lugar es precioso, la casa cómoda, con todo lo necesario para nuestra estancia. Daniel encantador y siempre dispuesto a ayudar.

Car: recommended

Unique location in the valley of the future World Heritage of UNESCO, Risco Caído, testimony of the original way of life on the island and astronomical and astrological knowledge with monumental wall drawings and perfectly organized light that illuminates those wall drawings.

Immediately adjacent to the Barranco Hondo is the first mighty mountain of the Parque Natural Tamadaba, directly behind the Atlantic Ocean.

Cheese dairies, to visit and direct sale of cheese and typical Canarian products in the immediate vicinity. All other typical Canarian products are available at Mima and Santiago.

There are countless hiking trails, from easy to difficult, short to long, all of which give a fantastic impression that this island is a small continent with 14 climates.

With the rental car beautiful beaches (also naturist) and the old island capital Gáldar quickly reached.

The island center with Artenara, Tejeda, Teror, the Roque Nublo and the Pico des Las Nieves are just around the corner.

The friendliness of the people here in the north of Gran Canaria, and especially in the Barranco Hondo, and the diversity of nature will inspire you.

Enjoy one of the best starry skies you have ever seen in your life, from the big car to the Milky Way.

Barranco Hondo is the village in the mountains par excellence, original, charming and secret, witness to the way of life more than 2000 years ago, until today. As we move away from the bustling areas of the coast, we can find people of great interest to the traveler, looking for places with a special atmosphere, magical vantage points, and behind each mountain, another part of this small continent.

Barranco Hondo and the surrounding area are ideal for sports activities such as hiking, climbing and cycling. The coastlines near Agaete and La Sardina are famous for their dive sites.

The local café with the shop of Mima and Santiago is not 50m away. There you will find everything you need, and it is one of the best places to immerse yourself in life, with products directly from the fields and animals of the area. La Mima and El Santiago are looking forward to welcoming you and offering very reasonably priced food and drink and traditional hot meals.

Also a few meters away is the small chapel of the Fátima virgin, which is itself a cave, in the center, where the locals also celebrate their festivals.

You can visit the ethnographic museum of Barranco Hondo, which gives an insight into the culture and customs of the island of Gran Canaria.

Many people use this space to begin their island experiences - that is the absolute origin of the island.
