This property’s location is superior. Located, in a great neighborhood, centrally located to practically everything you may want to do. The accommodations are immaculately taken care of and stocked with much of what you might need. An A+++. Would without question stay here again when returning to the area.

WOW!

This place is simply outstanding. A 1920's craftsman home that Kent has lovingly restored to its full glory. He made a career of high-end rehabs and the quality, care, and attention to detail show in every square foot. A very large 1-br apartment with 2 decks, a big patio and front porch and complete privacy. There's a very interesting bookshelf and Kent even let me borrow one on the promise to return it the next time we are in town. Off street parking in a very quiet neighborhood, just outside of Balboa Park. Quiet, quiet, quiet. This is the place we will try to stay every time we come to town.

Paradise on earth!

Kent was an amazing host and has a gorgeous property that we fell in love with. It is a large, comfortable space surrounded by lush gardens he maintains with utmost care and precision. Open the windows to enjoy fresh air from the fruit and flowering trees while listening to all the exotic birds and zen fountains. Excellent location and wonderful neighborhood, close to the expressway, Balboa Park, and lots of delightful food and drink options nearby.

I purchased this property 25 years ago, spent several years renovating its 20 rooms and installing hundreds of assorted trees and shrubs. I was honored to have this property featured by "Save Our Heritage Organization's Tour of Historic Homes" in 2007. As a long-time house renovator and avid gardener - it has been exciting but daunting to maintain these sprawling gardens year after year.. My 25+ "Regulars" who visit annually offer encouragement and support. "Wow, Kent, the gardens have grown so much since last year." Some even lend a hand with Spring weeding. I'm pleased that nearly all Winter guests of 2022 returned in 2023.

Why they chose this property

Covering 3 parcel lots, nearly an acre -- this is one of the largest residential properties in Uptown San Diego. My Treetop apartment/suite offers 4 - 5 private rooms plus its own private walled garden There are two bubbling fountains on site, and dozens of visiting birds provide a peaceful backdrop as guests spend time on their sunny terrace. Several tease me that they enjoy the garden so much -- they neglect local attractions -- just to " relax at their own private resort."

What makes this property unique

Picturesque Balboa Park is located next door while Downtown is 5 minutes away, the Airport about 15 minutes west. Hidden among lush greenery - visitors are startled to discover such a sprawling oasis in the central core of urban San Diego. A special surprise are the dozens of hummingbirds, hooded orioles, cooper hawks, owls, and green tropical parrots passing through, stopping to drink or bathe in one of the large garden fountains.
