The Villa El Duque is one of the villas of the absolute top class in Tenerife with its exclusive luxury amenities.

The house is composed by 4 floors and has a private heated pool with sun loungers and dining area. There are 3 large terraces, one of them is right by the pool, the other two terraces are accessible from the bedrooms. In each room is air conditioning available. The luxury kitchen has Miele built-in appliances including a dishwasher, oven, ceramic hob, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and a kettle. There is also a electric grill. The large living room has a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a stone wall. The dining room can accommodate up to 10 people.

From the terrace you have a wonderful panoramic view of the sea, to the mountains and to the city. The Villa provides free wifi internet. The 5 comfortable bedrooms are each equipped with a double bed, and there are 5 bathrooms, 4 bathrooms "en suite" (with access to the respective bedrooms). A washing machine is available as well as an iron, ironing board and hairdryer. The house has a garage that has space for up to 2 cars.

Good Villa but not accurately described and poorly maintained.

The Villa is only partly as described within the OwnersDirect website, there a number of misrepresentations.

1) Bedroom 5 (Top Floor) does not have an en-suite Bathroom as stated. The fifth bathroom is adjacent to the Lounge on the Level below. You share the only Bathroom on the Top Level, access only via Bedroom 4...

2) Also, Bedroom 5 is of a Double size, but the bed within this room is not a Double Bed, as with the other rooms. It is only suitable for one person.

3) The bedroom at Garage level is next to the Pool Plant Room which emits a constant and high level of both noise and seriously bad odours 24/7. Consequently, we found this room to be un-useable, requiring four children to share a room on the Level above.

4) The photograph of the Pool adjacent is actually the adjoining Villa, not this Villa. The Villa's Pool faces a dual carriageway.

5) 150 metres to the Dual carriageway.

Unfortunately, we then had quite a few maintenance issues, largely due to a clear lack of regular maintenance and little interest from the local agent.

The major maintenance issues included:-

1) A lack of Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi simply did not work, for the whole holiday. The local agent promised a temporary box on our 3rd day but failed to deliver this at all.

2) A lack of air conditioning to the top floor. This was not corrected until we had located the Owner’s Father (in the adjacent villa, no 24) on day 10. A decent man, he found a contractor who effected a repair to a pump taking just 20 minutes. This was on Day 11 of our holiday and the 10 previous nights were stifling for the occupants to sleep in.

3) Kitchen Hob – only two of the 4 zones worked, the others were not working at all on our arrival. This made cooking for 9 people very difficult. The Owner’s Father acknowledged this on Day 10. It remained in this condition until we left.

4) External Furniture – The furniture around the Pool was dirty and some of it was broken simply due to old age. The sun lounger cushions were particularly dirty .

5) External Lighting – Of the 7 low level external lights, only two were functioning.

6) Cockroaches at the Top Floor, in both bedrooms and on the connecting Landing.

There were other more minor issues - blocked drains, fused bulbs but difficult to know where to stop.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. Unfortunately these guests have changed the property when they have written a review - they never stayed in our villa. They stayed in a neighbour villa which belongs not to us. But it is important to know we think.

The area of ​​El Duque is a stylish and very desirable part of Costa Adeje in the sunny south of Tenerife. The beach of Playa del Duque is less than 250 meters from the Villa. Along the new and well-kept promenade there are numerous shopping centers and restaurants.

The fantastic beach of Playa del Duque in the Costa Adeje is a beautiful sandy beach and is about 700 m long with palm trees, luxury hotels and a beautiful promenade. In addition, there is the castle of the Spanish royal family in El Duque.

With an upscale ambience, elegance and attentive service convince the luxurious hotels and restaurants of Playa del Duque.

Around the Plaza del Duque small boutiques and fashion stores offer high-end designer fashion, watches and jewelery. Here it is worthwhile to shop in peace and stroll.

Not far away is the small fishing village of La Caleta, which has a handful of bars and some excellent seafood restaurants, where you can enjoy a traditional and typical Canarian atmosphere. In the east of El Duque the touristic center of Playa de las Americas is located with many bars and restaurants. You can reach it in a few minutes. There are 5 golf courses nearby, within a few minutes drive to Costa Adeje Golf or to Abama Golf.

Also Siam Park is not far away. It is Europe's largest water park.
