|Minimum Stay||5 - 7 nights|
Make this charming apartment your home away from home in Brooklyn! With a private entrance in our brownstone home, the apartment has old Brooklyn charm with modern comfort. Located on a quiet, tree-lined block that was named the Greenest Block in Brooklyn in summer 2015 by the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It's just a 3-minute walk to the subway station (the 'A' line, an express train) and a short subway ride to attractions in Brooklyn and Manhattan (about 20 minutes to Greenwich Village or downtown Manhattan). Grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and other amenities are within short walking distance. A great spot for families (we welcome children 6 years and older). A perfect base for exploring all New York City has to offer. We live underneath the vacation rental, so it's easy for us to receive you and give you the keys, and we're happy to recommend our favorite spots and things to do!
A translator and a teacher, we live underneath the vacation rental (it has its own private entrance) with our two kids. Some of our favorite things to do in New York are walking across the Brooklyn Bridge and eating in Chinatown, visiting great museums like the Met, MoMA, and the Brooklyn Museum, and enjoying cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery while strolling through Greenwich Village.
Kate and Brian purchased this apartment in 2007
We love this calm, pretty block with friendly neighbors, and the fact that it's so close to the A train with easy access into Manhattan.
The apartment is spacious and filled with light, and we've stocked it with guidebooks and a collection of DVDs with movies set in Brooklyn and New York City.
We were lucky to call this our home base for a week long girls' trip. The place was spacious and the four of us each had a comfortable place to sleep at the end of our long days of sightseeing. Kate & Brian were very welcoming and thoughtful hosts, giving us many helpful tips for our stay and even surprising us with cupcakes one night knowing we were celebrating a few birthdays! A very quick walk to the subway had us on our way to our destination easily. We generally found our commute to the Times Square area took 30-40 mins. Overall, the apartment met or exceeded all of our expectations for this holiday.
Loved our stay in this rustic apartment, just what we were hoping for. Kitchen is well stocked, bedroom is super spacious and both air conditioners worked like a charm, thank goodness! Kate gave us some great recommendations for coffee shops, restaurants, etc that were very close by. All in all, we had a wonderful time here!
This apartment gave my 13yo son and I a luxurious safe haven to return to after exploring Manhattan each day. I'd recommend it to anyone!
We had a great trip. The apartment was beautiful and filled with light on sunny days. Its very well placed near the subway in a very authentic part of Brooklyn. We wandeted around meeting lots of lovely people. Easy to manhatten ...half hour to mid town. Excellent.
We (a family of four) had a lovely stay in this apartment in October 2015. We loved the large windows, the brick wall, the well-kept wooden floors and the view from the master bedroom out on to the,for us Europeans – typical New York street!
Everything worked well with the booking, payment and keys. The apartment was nice and clean and it had what the ad promised. The location, only a short walk from a Subway station, was very convenient for reaching the places we went to such as Mid-town Manhattan, Battery park, Brooklyn Bridge, Coney Island and JKF. The apartment was nicely heated, the water was warm enough and the kitchen had what was needed to make breakfast or cook a meal (the latter we didn’t do though…).
The neighbourhood felt safe, also for us coming back with two children in the evening-time.
The only negative thing we have to say is that the master bed was quite squeaky but this was not a major problem.
Kate and Brian were kind and helpful and we felt welcome in the apartment.
We would be happy to recommend the apartment to family and friends!
