Cozy Cabin with Fabulous View

Bedrooms 1
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

This Cozy Cabin (we call it our Red Fox Cabin) is located overlooking a fabulous view of the famous fishing spot known as the Chicken Coop in the middle part of beautiful Toledo Bend Lake. It has one bedroom and one bath, but a sleeper sofa couch in the living. This is a great place for a couple's getaway but room if you want to bring a kiddo. There is Direct TV in the bedroom and one in the living room so you can each enjoy your own shows after the sun goes down. It has a washer/dryer, full size refrigerator, stove, microwave and a grill on the deck so you can grill and watch the beautiful sundown.

This cabin is on a bluff with hardwoods and large pines in a natural setting. You can see all the way to Louisiana 5 miles away. It is a great little place to get away from it all and enjoy nature at it's finest. There is a brand new pier that is right by where the Sabine River runs that makes for some great fishing. Just sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of beautiful Toledo Bend Lake.

Memorable week

  • 5 of 5

My husband, son, and I rented this cabin for a week. This was the perfect place for us. This cabin was very nice, quiet, and clean. It had everything you could possibly need or want. The pier was very nice, we enjoyed many nights sitting in the peace and quiet fishing. The boat ramp and fish cleaning station was very convenient after a long day of fishing. And then to end the day sitting on the porch enjoying the great view, nothing could be better. The pool was nice on those really hot summer days. We can not think of one thing to complain about. Everything was perfect and the managers were great, very friendly and just good people. We usually look for a place to rent on toledo bend about once a year, but there is no more looking for us. We know we will book this cabin again and probably go more than just once a year. We had an amazing time and made many priceless memories! Thanks April and Micheal for all you do, can't wait till we can get back there.

Red Fox Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Very nice cabin for 2 adults. Small but well designed. Looks brand new. (Is actually 2 yrs old.) Was very clean. Manager came by later in the day to check on us. He was very anxious to make our stay pleasant.

Nice front porch with BBQ pit and view of the lake. Large front lawn area shared with 2 larger cabins one of which was occupied by 3 couples who did not impact our solitude in any way. There is a fire circle that none of us used. There is a fishing pier shared by the 3 cabins that could use some maintenance.

Kitchen is well provided. Dining table has seating for only 2. Cable TV is provide but no WiFi. Also we had poor cellphone connection thru Verizon on parts of the property but an adequate signal on other parts.

Management provides another pier plus an above-ground pool at another location nearby which we did not avail ourselves of. This location also has some boats available for rent. We, however, were content to spend most of our time reading at the cabin.

Be sure to purchase your necessities before going to the cabin as the nearest grocery store is about a 1/2 hour ride away. Also be sure you have detailed directions and GPS to find your way there. It is very tricky as there are some other rental cabins on a similarly named road nearby and you will have trouble getting a cellphone signal to contact management if you get confused. But cabin is well worth the effort for a brief stay by the lake.

P.S. We saw a red fox out front by the fence. Well-named cabin!

Weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Needed a weekend getaway for our anniversary and we found this little gem. This cabin is nice and cozy, very clean, and just what we needed away from phones and computers. Slept 2 people comfortably but it did have a fold away bed in the couch. Would and already have recommended it to our friends. We definitely will be back!

We loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We only got to stay for 2 nights but I wish we could have stayed longer! The lady i spoke with on the phone to book our stay was very friendly and i don't doubt that if we would have needed anything, she would have been happy to help. The cabin was so cute! Everything was clean and worked properly.. we spent a lot of our time on the lake but the cabin was so cozy, I wish we would have had time to just lay around for a day.. we will definitely be coming back, hopefully for several days!

Great view, relaxing trip

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I visited during a hot Texas summer weekend. The cabin is small but just right for us! Nice kitchen/living area & bedroom. Loved the dock/deck over the lake! Great place to have coffee & watch sunrise & even better for wine at sunset. No one was staying in other 2 cabins, which meant we had the property all to ourselves! Minor issues: Very small bathroom-not ideal for a large person, no dishwasher, a little difficult to find but we did find it! Perfect for a couple with small dogs. Price is good! Go!

Nice Week

  • 5 of 5

My Wife and I rented this Cabin for a weeks vacation. We found the Cabin to be very quite and comfortable. Currently the Owners Daughter, April and her significant other Jerry, are living next door and they are a great couple. They had just moved in the week before and are now helping with the care of the Properties. They would constantly ask if we needed anything anytime they saw us out. Jerry had noticed we had moved the outside Trash Can from the Deck as it was starting to smell. While we were gone he came over and emptied the Can and gave it a complete cleaning. When we arrived back at the Cabin he apologized to no end about the smell and he emptied the Can an additional time between then and when we left. We do not fish so I can not give a report on that but we did see a number of Wildlife at or on the drive to the Cabin including a Bald Eagle, Blue Heron and many other birds at the Cabin. On the Highway coming into the Cabin we saw several Deer and a Bobcat cross the Road. The little town of Hemphill is about 15 Miles from the Cabin and you can get Groceries, Gas and Food there. We highly recommend The Feed Store Café just off of the Square and there are some nice Shops in and around Town. If we make our way back to this area we would stay here again without questions.
