The district town of Eschwege is located in the very north of Hesse, directly on the border with Thuringia. On the one hand, it is characterized by the upper Werratal, with the Werratalsee, which invites you for swimming, sailing, surfing or for a round trip with the ?Werranixe? On the other hand, it is also located directly at the nature reserve Meißner and the Hessian Switzerland near Meinhard.
