“More about Beautiful Aspen Colorado...

So why do people love it here in Aspen, you ask? Not only are the natural surroundings and amount of outdoor activities enough to keep anyone busy year round, but there is a strong sense of community in this quaint resort town. Cultural events and festivals fill the summer and winter weekends and entertainment and nightlife are bountiful. Aspen is a small town with big city amenities with attractions like ballets, lectures, theatrical performances and music festivals, as well as world class shopping, art galleries and museums, and an opera house.

Aspen residents are from all walks of life, from artists to ski racers to writers to outdoor enthusiasts. Some live in the area year round, others only a few weeks out of the year. Despite where locals come from or where they work, they all have a common love for what Aspen has to offer in community, culture, and location. Locals and tourists alike enjoy activities in the area like hiking, mountain biking, rafting or kayaking, fly fishing, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, attending concerts and poetry readings, and relaxing at local spas.

Because the community is so active, residents also enjoy team sports like softball and soccer, as well as individual challenges like climbing and biking. There are also a few ways to exercise your mind with college classes at Colorado Mountain College, graphic design school, Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, and Aspen Historical Society. Aspen, Colorado is the result of the combination of culture, shopping, restaurants, and natural beauty.”

Why The Owner chose Northwest Colorado

What's not to love about Aspen. As my mom always said....'You can live a number of lives in this small sophisticated town. one year you're a ski bum, the next a cyclist, the next year a gardener, the next a cultural aficionado, a writer, a river guru.'

What makes this house unique

The tranquility & views at home but the bustle of interesting, inspiring adventures are minutes from our front door. One can accomplish so much in one day because it's all so close!

Fantastic location and comforatble accommodations

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful two week stay here with our family of 5. The first floor condo was well equipped and had three comfortable bedrooms and two moderately sized bathrooms. The owners were easy to communicate with and have organized the home so it is easy to get around. Unlike a few other rentals we have been in, there was plenty of space to put our groceries in the fridge and cabinets. And the bedrooms had plenty of storage for our personal items. It was very clean when we arrived and Nancy provided clear details about what the condo rules and expectations are.

The best thing about this apartment is it is in an incredible location to explore Aspen. We walked to town numerous times by foot and didn't need a stroller of our 4 year old. We also explored the trails behind the West End along the Roaring Fork River, walked to ACES, the library , John Denver Park, grocery store, gondola, enjoyed the playground a 1/2 block from the house (this is an awesome playground) and the Red Brick Rec center. I even ran to Smuggler Mtn and the Ute trail heads in less than a mile. The only reason to have a car for this apartment is to get you to the trail heads in other areas like Independence Pass and in Castle Creek. The public bus picks up right around the corner and can take you to almost every other place you would want to go. There is a bike rental store at the start of Rio Grand trial head less than a 1/2 m walk from the condo.

I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is a first floor unit that gets very little sunlight and is quite dark at this time of year - maybe it's different at other times of years. Since we were outside all day, it didn't really matter. We did eat dinner in the backyard on a blanket a few times and in the two Adirondack chairs provided, but wish there had been some of outdoor table to sit at and enjoy the last of the day's sunlight before putting the kids to bed. As I told the owner, some sort of shade or curtain in the main living space would have provided some privacy from pedestrians at night and made it a little more comfortable to be inside. Also, because we were part of a four condo structure, and not a stand alone house, and had young children, we were constantly trying to get our kids to keep their voices down so we didn't disrupt neighbors. Just something to keep in mind, but shouldn't deter you from renting this unit.

All is all this is an incredible spot in a highly sought after neighborhood and a very comfortable unit.

Owner's Response: We strive to create the best possible experience for our guests! :) Thank you for your feedback. I wanted to clarify a few items. At the time of this guest's visit, the historical house next door had installed a sound proof 2 story green covered fence as they stripped the paint off their brick. This would explain the temporary lack of sunlight that normally pours in as we face south and west. As to privacy, our guests enjoy the extra privacy that our neighborhood and condo provides. It's a running comment from our guests. Unfortunately, the front hedge was accidentally trimmed more than usual before their visit. Also, our duplex only shares a covered porch with our east neighbor. Usually there is very little overlap in occupancy. One last note, our lovely backyard deck, has a 3'x3' stone coffee table that is in place at all times. Thank you again and we hope you stay with us next time.

Fabulous location, beautifull condo, lovely owner!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time in Aspen at this easy to walk everywhere condo. Nancy was so easy to communicate with and was incredibly organized from the start. She has a wealth of knowledge on the area to help make your stay even better. The home is a quiet condo, newly remodeled. Very comfortable open plan living room/kitchen, with great views of Aspen Mtn. We walked into town every night for dinner, and really enjoyed our stay. We will go back!

Location location! Gorgeous duplex with excellent amenities

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed this rental tremendously. It's perfect for a family with young or older children... Or just a couple. We are an active couple with grown children & everyone agreed this was the best experience! The location is in the "mix" but gives you privacy in a real neighborhood. We walked to everything & left the car parked. The condo has amazing views of Aspen Mountain & light. It's comfortable & has everything you'd expect with a luxury rental. It even had a steam shower. The owners were great & everything was arranged online. We're going to book for the month of January too. The free bus shuttles pick up just a block away & with 4 different mountains to ski, we'll be set. Christmas was booked but maybe 2016.
