About Steven Minning

Originally from the Midwest - a New Yorker of 30 years!

Steven Minning purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Steven Minning chose Poconos

The proximity to New York is so convenient and easy to get to. The property feels so private - you feel as though you are in the middle of the country, yet you are only a 10 minute walk into the middle of the town of Milford PA. The community is quaint, with good shops, good dining and minimum amount of tourists. Go the Milford Diner for some pancakes in morning and hob-nob with the locals. The area has all the amenities to go out or stay at home!

What makes this cottage unique

A very open space - yet a very cozy and warm space complete w/ a working fireplace. The open space includes an open staircase with no railing that leads up to the sleeping loft. The staircase is solid and sturdy, but has no hand rail.

See photo above.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The cottage was unbelievable !! So serene and peaceful.

We took lots of pics and will forward those to you soon

We made use of the barbecue grill, kitchen and all utensils.

You have done a wonderful job of decorating and had all the essentials plus more!

We have stayed in dozens of homes and cottages throughout the years and

I said to my girlfriend(Jacqui) this is by far the best place we stayed.

It is a perfect getaway, fairly close, reasonably priced, perfect size, beautiful brook,

intense scenery i could go on and on. Steven you really did a nice job, we really enjoyed our stay

And thanks for your great communication, it is greatly appreciated.

We wish you the best of luck and we look forward to visiting again soon.

It was wonderful, very comfortable and cozy for a Christmas getaway.

  • 5 of 5

We thought the house was great and, amazingly, there was snow on the ground, which was what we hoped for! We loved hearing the brook when we were outside. We need to come back in the summer to appreciate it with the windows open. Everything was clean and neat. The loft bed was great. The pull-out trundle worked for two people, but there is very little room to get around with it pulled out. (It is called a small room, and it is!). We loved the fireplace and used it a lot. We found we had to buy more firewood, because what was provided did not last even one day. Admittedly, we spent a lot of time in the house and used the fireplace during most of our waking hours, so we weren't surprised. We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen, bringing some of our own equipment, but the basics were there and very much appreciated. We missed having a table to sit and eat at, but we found the large ottoman, when protected by placemats, worked ok to sit around and eat at. We loved walking up the road and trail to the waterfall. We would highly recommend this cottage, and hope to come back in the other seasons. Thank you!

Just wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were going away for the first time in over a year, and I wanted a nice cottage in the woods where we could take our dogs. This place was perfection! Steven always answered any questions beforehand very promptly. It was about ten degrees the weekend we were here, so we opted to mostly stay in and hang out in front of the fire. The kitchen had everything we needed (I'm obsessed with the nice deep sink).

We did take our two small dogs, so the only thing was that we had to make sure they didn't come up the steps to the loft since it's wide open to the first floor.

The cottage is really just a few blocks from the center of Milford, but it feels secluded. We went into town for some meals and shopping and a nice massage. Really the perfect getaway, I'm hoping to go back when it's warmer and we can enjoy sitting out back by the creek.

We had a great time! The cottage was perfect for 4 people and 3 dogs! We will definitely be back.

This house was very clean and the back yard is beautiful. It fit 4 adults and 3 dogs comfortably. Very spacious living room and the trundle bed turns a twin bed into a king. It is a small bedroom downstairs but it was perfect.

Perfect winter weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Very cozy cabin so close to town yet has a private in-the-woods feel. The second room kept us thinking of who we can bring here next. The kitchen had everything you needed and the back patio looks perfect for warm weather. Our dog loved the woods as well. Thanks for a great stay. We hope to be back soon!
