If you wish to arrive by water, MLW depth is 4 1/2-6 feet at the end of the dock where it has accommodated 40 ' sailboats. Your family can enjoy boating, swimming, fishing, crabbing, bike riding, and beautiful walks from this 4.6 acre private property located on a panoramic point of land. If you want to explore, you can ride your bike to the 9 car/passenger Oxford/Bellevue Ferry (just minutes away), which will take you to the quaint, and beautiful village of Oxford where there are some great restaurants, a park, and performances at the Tred Avon Theater. Biking through the town and beyond is very scenic with very little traffic. The larger town of Easton, 20 min. away, offers art galleries, golf courses, fine and casual dining, lots of shops, movies, and live entertainment at the fully restored, historic, art deco Avalon Theater. The Chesapeake Maritime Museum, gourmet/casual dining, antiquing, boutique shops, and golf are available in the nearby Victorian village of St. Michaels. You can also pamper yourself there with a spa treatment and fine dining at 'The Inn at Perry Cabin', an Orient- Express resort...fronting the Miles River. ALL of this is located just 1 1/2 hrs. from Washington or Baltimore. Boat charters are also available at area marinas.

Great Adult Vacation
The décor in the house is not kid friendly. The house is right on the water so bringing a boat was very easy and convenient. We did catch crabs and striper right off the dock. The ferry to Oxford is in walkable distance but not a lot to do there. I recommend driving to St. Michaels, it is not far and there are plenty of shops and eateries. The views from the house were amazing. Some issues we had were a lot of the outlets in the house and on the patio did not work. The master bedroom only has 3 walls so if you are in the kitchen you can look up and see someone on the balcony in the master bedroom. Fyi the dimmer switch for the dining room light is not round like the others, it is located on the kitchen wall and it is on the side of a regular flip switch. It took us awhile to find it. Overall we had a wonderful vacation but not sure if we would rent this house again.
We are confused by this traveler's comments since she mentions that they had a wonderful vacation. Possibly one of the best water views in Talbot County, the owner is meticulous about attending to her guests' needs. She has taken care of the outlets and, yes, she has some collectibles that might be reached by a toddler, but not a problem with older children. This guest said she will be retracting this review due to its ambiguous content.
P.S. Oxford is a lovely town with a New England feel. You can take your car, or bike on the ferry (5 min. away) and bike ride to tennis courts, great restaurants, and just explore this beautiful town that is surrounded by water. VERY quaint.
'Bonate' is a private 4.60 acre property located on a point of land affording panoramic views of the Tred Avon and Choptank rivers. It is accessible by deep water, air, and car. The location is central with access to Easton, the hub of our area, and the beautiful villages of St Michaels, and Oxford. There is also outlet shopping en-route and lots of antique shops, and golf courses in the area. All of this is only an hour and fifteen minutes from BWI airport. Easton Airport is also only 20 minutes from the house if you'd like to arrive by air, take a commute to a larger airport, or just take an aerial view of our beautiful estates and waterways.
