Area: Greenpoint and Williamsburg New York's newest bohemian area, are one of the hottest places in town with a dynamic mix of art galleries, boutiques, bars, and restaurants. It is home to the largest artist colony in the United States.
Location: The apartment is located on a quiet tree lined the street. It is just two blocks away from all your shopping needs. (Groceries, banks, restaurants, a farmer's market, a gym and medical services. )
The place is a short walk away from Transmitter Park and its stunning views of the Manhattan.
The G line Greenpoint Ave station is a 5min walking distance from the house.
The L line Bedford Ave station is a 10-15 minute walk and only one stop from Manhattan.
The 'East River Ferry' stops on India Street - it takes you in 15min to Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge area.
Although I have lived in New York for many years and consider myself a New Yorker, I was born in Europe and travel a lot all around the world.
For me, my vacation rental is more than just a business. It is the joy I get from making my guests feel at home in our townhouse, as well as helping them to discover the dynamic and creative energy that New York has to offer.
My husband Geoffrey is a high school history teacher. He speaks German, Spanish and French and helps greet our international guests.
This was a great base for our family's trip to New York for a week. The apartment was very clean, and felt fresh and airy. It was close to the subway entrance and was on a quiet residential street. Maryla welcomed us warmly and explained the rules of the apartment (really not much - keeping shoes off in the house, turn the lights off when we were out and keeping the little catcher in the bath so the pipes wouldn't get clogged) which are all things we'd do at home anyway. She lived on the same road but we never felt we were being watched. We have stayed in hotels in Manhattan previously but this was a much better option with more space and a more relaxing start to the day. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation with a bit more space.
Very nice and comfortable apartment in Brooklyn. Key location near lots of great restaurants, parks and transportation (East River ferry, subway). The apartment is clean, with all the basics you'd need for a great stay. We (especially our 3 year old) liked it so much we decided to extend our stay. The neighborhood is a great base if you plan on visiting other parts of Brooklyn or head into Manhattan. The only reason I didn't give it a 5th star is because we had some trouble with the wifi, even once working it was pretty slow. Otherwise it was a great experience and I'd highly recommend it! If you have a car just be mindful of the NYC parking rules- you may need to move it every couple days to a different street.
We have just returned from our wonderful NY break, staying in this lovely apartment. Maryla was an attentive host, displaying flexibility 'above and beyond' as our inbound flight was running late and we did not arrive until very late in the evening; she was also available during our stay and would often pop her head round to check that we were all OK, and to see whether we needed anything, etc. The apartment is furnished with many beautiful paintings and tapestries, and had all the amenities we needed. It is a very short distance to nearby cafes, restaurants and local shops and a short hop to Greenpoint Ave station (getting us into central NYC in 20 mins or less). We benefited from Maryla's suggestions and recommendations about local services and places to visit ... just sad that we ran out of time before being able to fully explore this interesting area.
I can only hope we were half as good guests as Maryla was a host. She kept in touch all along the way to make sure our stay was comfortable and without incident. The flat was a joy, and very convenient to a fair we were attending. If we do this fair again I will not hesitate to contact Maryla. Thanks so much from all of us.
Maryla has a beautiful, clean, and quiet rental. The pictures of the kitchen do not do it justice. There is zero street noise, the street itself is very quiet. Linens and towels are high quality. The place is spotless. A five star experience, thank you Maryla!
Our family spent a week in this comfortable townhouse. It was a nice, clean and cool place to re-energize our tired bodies from a long day of exploring New York City. The townhouse is conveniently located near the subway, fresh markets, bakeries, and eateries. We enjoyed exploring the neighborhood as well as learning the subway system and venturing into Manhattan. We accidentally locked ourselves out one night and with the help of Ewa and Ewelina, we got back in quickly. Thank-you Ewa for getting us back in quickly and your kindness. The only upgrade I would recommend is the couch in the living room. After long exhausting days, we just want to come home to dinner and relax on the couch and talk about our day. It's not very comfortable and very low to the ground for big, tall boys and hard to get up for the older parents. Every thing else was wonderful, and we enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this townhouse to anyone thinking of coming to New York.
