Classically decorated holiday home is situated in an ideal central location at the intersection of Hesse and Thuringia in the market town of Philippsthal. The Village history reaches far back to the 11th Century with the founding of a monastery, which was later converted into a castle. Even the Celts have left their mark in the immediate vicinity.
Philippsthal lies east of Bad Hersfeld where every summer the famous "Hersfeld Festival" will take place. A visit to the local health resort is recommended. Other notable cities Eisenach (the Luther town of Wartburg, Drachenschlucht and the Bach House) and Bad Salzungen with many half-timbered houses, the Sole experience bathroom with fancy sauna and a complete walk-graduation. In view width of the holiday home is Vacha, the oldest city inThüringen with remains of castle Wendelstein and a museum. In neighboring ancient Celtic village at Sünna (5 km) you can go back to the era before the era. - Moreover, it is this region famous for its white Kaliberge that is mined here. In addition to a guided tour up to a depth of 800 meters in the Merkers Adventure Mine, you can also enjoy underground concerts.
In addition to a very good infrastructure (Edeka, Aldi, Rossmann, different bakery, a pharmacy, doctors, dentists), all within approximately one kilometer to the house, the place offers a heated outdoor pool, mini golf, fitness facilities, bike trails and is the ideal for hiking. There are also various restaurants (home-style, Chinese to Italian), as well as cafes.
The location of the Chalet Werra and Philipp valley in gentle Werratal between the Thuringian Forest and Rhön offer an excellent starting point with numerous options for exploring Waldhessen and Wartburger country, whether on foot, by bicycle or by car.
The house is located about one hundred meters above the village of Philippsthal on the Thuringian border in the state of Hesse. It stands in a specially designated holiday home area and offers from the spacious balcony a wonderful view over the village in the Thuringian Forest and the northern foothills of the Rhön. Access is via a steep paved driveway, which is continued in the upper straight area 200 m as a well-paved gravel road and ends as a dead end.
