Our 1900 sq/ft open floor plan home is only minutes away from over 100 world-class golf courses including La Quinta Country Club and PGA West, both courses hosting the annual Career Builder Challenge. Old Town La Quinta with its numerous shops and restaurants is also just minutes away. Our mild winters make us a popular destination for tens of thousands of 'snowbirds,' who travel here from all over the United States, Canada and many other countries to enjoy championship golf, tennis and polo, swimming, hiking, luxurious spa treatments, fine dining and unique shopping. And with an average rainfall of thee inches, the Coachella Valley is a 'Fun In The Sun' destination.

Our home is GREEN! The property has desert landscaping with water efficient bubblers to conserve water. Inside and outside, we use energy efficient lighting. Our appliances are also energy efficient and our washer and dryer play a big role in conserving energy. The washer uses minimal amounts of water and the gas powered dryer minimizes the electricity used. Our home is equipped with a water softener and we use special, all-natural soaps and detergents throughout the house, from the bathrooms to the kitchen to the laundry. These concentrated soaps are made to work well with the soft water and minimize the impact to the environment. Our pool is filled with salt water to minimize the amount of chemicals required (better for the environment) and we had an energy efficient pool pump installed to reduce electricity consumption. The pool can be heated for an additional cost; please contact us for more information.

Gorgeous mountain views surround Casa Calliandra, our home in La Quinta Cove. Located near the top of the 'Cove' and only one block from the hiking trails around the perimeter, Casa Calliandra is the perfect getaway for those who seek the sunshine, peace and tranquility of the southern California desert. The only sounds you will hear during the day are birds chirping and doves cooing. Hummingbirds are quite numerous and are attracted to some of the beautiful flowers in our desert landscaped yard. Relax near our private pool and read a good book or go hiking or biking on the numerous nearby trails. Nights in the desert are magical with a beautiful, clear view of the Milky Way Galaxy unhindered by city lights.

Come and see how the deep blue skies mix with the earthy browns of the surrounding Santa Rosa Mountains and the vibrant greens of palm trees and desert plants!! The natural beauty of this area will captivate you and bring you back time and time again.

Kristin and Chris have a passion and love for the La Quinta area, and Chris is an avid golfer. We are Coachella Valley locals and enjoy the lovely outdoor environs with our fun-loving dog Olive; we do love the climate and beauty of the La Quinta Cove.

Why Kristin Hermann chose La Quinta Cove

We fell in love with La Quinta and the 'Cove' the first time we saw it. The gorgeous Santa Rosa Mountains, beautiful Coral Ridge, the close proximity to over 100 golf courses, the easy two hour drive from the beach, Los Angeles, and the local ski areas -- La Quinta is a great location to call home. Ultimately, this will be our retirement home here, and our plan is to rent it out as a vacation home for a few years in the interim.

What makes this house unique

Sun, sun and more sun! Golf, golf and more golf! An amazing getaway somewhere where the sun shines almost year round.

  • There are three sets of high-quality towels in each bathroom and four pool towels are also supplied. There is a hair dryer in each bathroom and a make-up mirror in the master suite. Master bathroom features double sinks in a marble counter top with tile accents and a large walk-in glass, marble and tile shower. Guest bathroom features a glass sink on a marble counter top with tile accents.

  • All three bedrooms are furnished with top quality mattresses for a comfortable and restful nights sleep. All three beds are made-up with luxurious 500+ thread count cotton sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers. The master suite features a Cal-King bed, a flat-screen Hi-Definition LCD TV, remote control ceiling fan, French doors leading to the patio, an alarm clock, a telephone, a large walk-in closet, a make-up mirror and a separate office with a nice, well-lit, quiet seating area that is the perfect place to curl up and read a good book. Both guest bedrooms are equipped with queen beds, ceiling fans and alarm clocks.

Granite, marble and tile in the kitchen and bathrooms, 10' high ceilings throughout the house, ceiling fans in every room; master and one guest room have remote controlled ceiling fans, Huge open floor plan in the great room, desert landscaping, bistro table with chairs, umbrella and two lounge chairs on pool deck. Rear patio has a nice table with seating for six, an umbrella and a gas barbecue for grilling steaks, burgers, fish, vegetables or whatever else you'd like to cook.

Extremely happy with the property!

This was the perfect find for our group of 6 during our Coachella weekend! Very spacious and extremely clean! The outdoor pool/ jacuzzi area was such a plus, we all loved spending a few hours out there before heading off to the festival! The home owner was extremely nice and helpful, overall great experiences and memories at Casa Calliandra!

Awesome property, gracious hosts, great location.

We had a great week long stay as Casa Calliandra. Kristin was extremely helpful and accommodating for our family of 5 - including a baby! We had everything we needed to make ourselves at home and enjoy mornings by the pool and evenings outside. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and will recommend it to any friends coming to the Palm Springs area.

House was comfortable and met all our needs!

My girlfriends and I enjoyed our Stagecoach weekend away at Kristin’s place. Great close location to catch the shuttle to the event. Had plenty of space, super comfortable beds in fact we didn’t want to get up in the mornings and all the supplies we needed. Would definitely come back next year!! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Very nice home equipped with everything we needed. The location Is ideal.
