This four bedroom log home is located on 26 wooded acres in Lyon County Kentucky a half mile from beautiful Barkley/Kentucky Lakes, one of the largest man-made lakes in the U.S. with boat launch 1/2 mile from the cabin.

Four marinas in close proximity for boat rental. Fish, ski, wake board, picnic or lunch at waterside restaurants.

Enjoy your own private 5 acre lake stocked with bass, bluegill, and catfish (no fishing license required) or just relax at the boat house or on the screened in porch. Available for your use are 2 canoes, 2 kayaks, a small fishing boat with trolling motor and a water bike. We have life jackets for swimmers.

This is Nature's Paradise whether you are 5 or 85. Besides the fire pit, horse shoes and, tree house there is an open field for other activities such as volley ball, baseball, or football. Use your imagination.

Peaceful and fun

I absolutely loved this place. Our kids played for hours in the tree fort, or looking for frogs in the frog pond, or playing with the mini-cornhole set. The adults enjoyed coffee on the screenporch and beer/wine on the patio and dock. The private trails were also fantastic and we basically never left the property all weekend. Owner was responsive to minor issues (e.g. smoke detector battery replacement), which were rectified right away. We are already searching future dates to come back again. Highly recommend.

Our 4th visit

As always, we really enjoyed our stay. It’s a great getaway! One friend of ours brought his tripod and cast iron pot and we made cowboy beans over the campfire…. like the cowboys did it. What a great easy to make meal under the stars. Fishing was pretty good and the bluegill are getting bigger. If we go next year they should be the right size and we might pan fry some over the fire. As usual, we hiked to the gravel pit then we flew a drone around that formation and property. Should be a nice video.

About the host

I am a retired orthodontist since 1995 and built this property a few years later. My wife and I boated for a few years after retirement then settled on our cabin home. I am a fly fisherman and enjoy KY and Barkley Lakes. One thing I love to do here at the cabin is have an annual fish fry and music jam every year in May. My buddies and I catch our own fish and pot luck the rest of the food or talk our wives into cooking a pot of beans. I've been a hunter in my younger days and some of the the mounts reflect my prey.

Why they chose this property

I eventually wanted some place the family could use with or without me. After boating I needed another new hobby, so building the lodge was it. My grandchildren all are into sports but I can always pull them back to nature when we stay at Parker Lake Lodge whether it is catching a frog or a lizard, even harmless snakes. We have had scavenger hunts, buried treasure finds, caught their first fish, played 'king of the mountain', had campfires, hikes, water bike rides and so much more. Your children/grandchildren will put their electronics down for an hour or maybe a whole afternoon and that's a promise!

What makes this property unique

It is a 26 acre playground. A 5 acre private lake with 2 canoes, 2 kayaks, a fishing boat, a water bike, a fire pit and a tree house that my grandson and I built. I don't know of anything to compare it to. It is close to restaurants and an abundance of attractions. The lakes are just a half mile away for launching a boat and that opens a whole new world. It is an ultimate getaway but it's also a unique getaway.
