  • 5 of 5

Location

Bocksee is a small village in the municipality Ankershagen which is considered the gateway to the Müritz National Park, which is by extensive forest complexes, many small lakes, meadows and moors of the most important habitats of rare animals and plants. Visitors can tap into the area by the very well-developed cycling and hiking trails themselves. For observations of wildlife and birds guided excursions are offered. For this purpose, numerous lookout towers were created. Several bathing and fishing lakes within 2 km. The tourist center of the lake district, the health resort of Waren an der Müritz is about 17 km away. In Ankershagen (2 km) there is an information center with exhibitions, bike hire and cafe. In vicarage opposite the church of the famous archaeologist and Troy-discoverer Heinrich Schliemann spent his childhood. The listed building from the 18th century. Century now houses a museum.
