Catch your breathe at The Breeze, Tamarindo's finest and newest modern luxury retreat. Situated approximately 150 meters/yards from the beach, our superb vacation home lies nestled in a perfect tropical setting. A magnificently preserved Guanacaste tree accentuates the ground's beauty. Lush tropical gardens are woven around this sensational two-bedroom, two bathroom jewel, which opens up to a cascading split-level pool and lounging area - perfect for a dip in the water or an afternoon of soaking up Costa Rica's rich rays of sun.
Enjoy the sublimely open sensation, a feeling of being one with nature. The front of the house is wall-to-wall glass, providing a window to many of Costa Rica's natural delights, from the sunbathing iguanas to a variety of vibrant birds and the Howler monkeys who all cohabitate in the surrounding trees. Dine outdoors on your covered patio as you take in all the sites, sounds and scents that breeze by.
Sleekness and simple elegance are synonymous with THE BREEZE. From the living room's stylish red sofa to the bedroom's tasteful mixture of a European duvet cover with Ralph Lauren or other high-end bed linens, the décor has been meticulously chosen to blend boutique hotel-style intimacy with a flair for the cosmopolitan.
Among the many amenities are air conditioning in the bedrooms, 2 flat screen TV's, hi-speed wireless internet, daily 24-hour security within a gated community, free maid service, and babysitting and laundry services for a fee. The Breeze accommodates 4 to 6 people.
Our fully-equipped kitchen comes complete with refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster-oven and coffee maker, along with contemporary dishes, cookware and silverware.
Dine in or out, as Tamarindo offers a host of excellent restaurants, many within walking distance from your perfectly situated vacation home. In fact, THE BREEZE is located in the heart of Tamarindo, where you'll find shops, banks, markets, restaurants, bars, business centers, exercise studios and language schools and more, and of course utterly fantastic surf.
We met in Los Angeles fifteen years ago. We both love traveling and have been all around the world. Friends living in Costa Rica enticed us to visit, and we fell in love with both the country and the small community, Tamarindo. We built the Breeze ourselves and have received many accolades for contributing to the beauty and enhancement of Tamarindo. In my 30's, I (Rhonda) was a freelance photographer for Associated Press in Los Angeles and Paris, France, and my husband, Jean Marc, created beautiful bed and table linens in Hong Kong. We are a fun-loving couple, love the outdoors, and raising our lovely daughter and four dogs.
Rhonda Lageyre purchased this house in 2009
Although a small surfing village, Tamarindo is a highly international community with people from all over the world choosing to live in a serene, beautiful environment. We saw Tamarindo as an upcoming Hawaii, yet offering an international flair. A country full of adventure, we found so much to do in Costa Rica, such as great surf for both novices and experienced surfers, ATV off-roading and mountain biking, yoga galore, great dining due to many fabulous ex-patriot chefs coming from all around the world, and so many exciting animal sightings that no one goes home feeling deprived of a wonderful howl or two from a Howler Monkey or a beautiful birdsong from one of a multitude of exotic birds. And in all of today's chaos, Costa Rica continues to maintain it's reputation as one of the most peaceful places in the world.
Peace and serenity abound within the Breeze's confines. Also at the Breeze you have the ability to cook your own meals in your own fully equipped kitchen, shop in a market steps away from your vacation home, or just stroll down the road for a delicious meal in one of the many wonderful restaurants. Comfortable, top notch lounge chairs surround a very enticing cascading pool. The close proximity to the beach. Our gorgeous trees on the property are home to the big, green iguanas, a variety of beautiful birds and the great Howler monkeys. Wireless access reaches all the way to the hammock, where you will be taking a well-deserved nap.
Family of four with two teenagers enjoyed the Breeze last month for a week. Very clean, centrally located and easily walkable to all parts of town. Staff and owners are great, very nice, outgoing and helpful. Surf board and bikes to use. Great pool and very quiet despite location. Grocery store nearby. Short walk to beach, we were able to rent chairs and umbrellas for the week. Felt very safe and comfortable.
Being two couples, The Breeze was a great place for us. We were amazed by how inexpensive our stay was for a place of this caliber. We had a villa with two bedrooms, which were adjoined by a living room & kitchen. We all thought this layout was so practical. The property had a nice pool, which we used frequently, even though we were walking distance to the beach. Our villa was really clean, leaving us to feel almost like we were staying at someone's personal home. The staff was more than I could have ever expected...so very nice & hardworking. Although, I must warn you- they don't speak much English, if any at all...(besides the property manager- blanking on her name), so practice up on your Spanish! We were, clearly, thoroughly impressed with our stay, although I would say the only con was that you have to ring the doorbell every time to get onto the property, even at odd hours of the night. Although this made us feel safe, getting home late from dinner or the bars made us feel like a nuisance when we had to ring the bell to wake up the staff. We hope they find (if they haven't already) a better system for letting guests in. :)
Thank you, Rhonda and staff, for contributing to our best vacation yet! We will be staying at The Breeze during our next trip to Tamarindo.
It has taken a few months to get this posted ... we hesitate to share this little gem.
Tamarindo was a pleasant surprise in its unspoiled beauty as compared to other well visited vacation spots 'filled with tourists & commercialization'. The Breeze is an intimate, modern oasis located in town; beautifully landscaped, extremely clean, well maintained, and owned by two wonderful hosts--Jean Marc & Rhonda. They have created an atmosphere of total relaxation, yet an ease to socialize with other Villa guests if you so choose. We felt welcome & well taken care of.
We enjoyed our month -- Jean Marc was very charming, hospitable, knowledgeable of the area and happy to share that info in arranging any excursions requested through his personal contacts. We very much appreciated this. Myelin, thank you as well.
Lastly, it was a pleasure to meet you, Rhonda, the last part of our stay. Thank you both, again, for your hospitality. We are looking forward to returning in February next year!
This was the perfect place for us! We stayed the first week in Feb 2014. We loved the location, just a few minutes walk from the beach, a few more to all the restaurants, bars, etc. Wonderful staff - we had many fun conversations with the on-sight caretakers and we enjoyed getting to know the owner a bit as well (he also hooked us up with excellent restaurant recommendations). Our villa was spacious, comfortable and stylish. We were in villa #4, which we felt was the most private, we spent a lot of time on our little patio. The pool is wonderful, perfect size and surrounded by incredible tropical plants and trees. Howler monkeys visited every day, so cool! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We stayed at The Breeze the week before Thanksgiving and although the town of Tamarindo was busy, the Breeze was a wonderful escape. Very private, great pool, wonderful grounds and I can't speak any more highly about the service. What a great stay! My only drawback was the beds and couch, a litte stiff for our preference but everything was clean and new and this is just a personal preference.
We had a total of 32 in our group (2 people stayed at another property) and the rest of us were split up between the Breeze and the Breeze Annex. We still talk about this trip today and cannot wait to get all of us together back there again.
The staff was absolutely wonderful and very patient for putting up with so many people. We mostly gathered at the Breeze - it was great. Thank you guys so much for all you did - this review is way over due! See you soon!
The Breeze is very, very close to the beach - just 150 meters away - and right from where the catamarans and fishing boats depart. Liberia International airport is one hour away, and Tamarindo has it's own small airport less than two miles from The Breeze. Being located in town, you will find everything at your fingertips, from restaurants of all sorts to clothing shops, markets, spas, surf shops, banks, bars, etc. Renting ATV's is also a very popular activity, and can be rented nearby, as well as bicycles. For your convenience, it is quite easy to find a taxi from the Breeze and enjoy neighboring towns. You can easily arrange horseback riding right in town. Great golfing at Hacienda Pinilla is just a 15 minute car ride away. Plenty to do - all within reach.
Other Activities: Yoga centers, ATV tours, zip lining, sunset cruises.
