CarolAnn purchased this house in 2003
We love Boulder, our location is ideal, our home is a few blocks from the best restaurants in town, swimming pool, hiking trails, rock climbing, kayaking and recreational centers. Boulder is a town, but offers the benefits of a big city, excellent restaurants and bars, shopping, art galleries, all within walking distance!
Boulder offers rafting, biking, hiking, the open space is a priority to our wonderful city!
Huge, Fenced In Backyard, Outdoor Living, Flagstone Patio, Outdoor Furniture, ClawFoot BathTub, natural gas Grill & 50" Flat Screen TV
We enjoyed the gorgeous backyard, patio and hot tub, along with the walk to town location. CarolAnn was a gracious host and we very much enjoyed our stay.
Three generations of our family spent the entire week together at this home in March, and it was perfect for our needs. The location of this home is perfect. Set in a quiet family neighborhood within walking distance to the excitement of Pearl Street, we did all of our traveling in town by foot. Another highlight of this rental is the enormous backyard, which offered a ton of space for lawn games and grilling out. Being that the weather was great, we spent much of our time in the back yard lounging around, playing bocce ball, and throwing the frizbee... the pictures don't even do this yard justice, it's HUGE! The beds were very comfortable and the large dining area was a great place for us all to gather and eat meals together.
As far as Boulder itself, what a great place for a family vacation. Many restaurants and bars within blocks and so many great places to hike and explore the mountains within 30 minutes.
This is a great rental for families and travelers looking to experience Boulder like they actual live in the community rather than just visiting.
We loved the location of this home, walking down to shops and restaurants on Pearl, hiking Mt. Sanitas and surrounding trails, in quiet "family" neighborhood. Historic Whole Foods Market 7-8 blocks away made cooking a snap. House is very sunny and spacious, nice that our teenager could be watching TV in the front room while we had quiet conversation in the dining room. Owner was very helpful with dining suggestions and details about the house. Several small issues arose during the stay but Carol was quick to respond regardless of the hour (and despite the fact that she was away on holiday herself). Would recommend to friends and family looking for similar.
We arrived to the house with food for dinner. Went to wash hands...no towels. After searching for towels, we found them in the drier a little stiff. Went to get a plates and glasses....no dishes. We found them in the dishwasher. Pulled out a cup to pour my grandson a glass of milk...DIRTY! Nothing in the kitchen for spices...not even salt.
We had promised our grandson that is four that we would relax in the hot tub after dinner and then to bed. So, after dinner we went out to use the hot tub and it was filthy and drained. Sent the owner, Carol, pictures of the dirty dishes, towels in the dryer, and the hot tub to let her know that the cleaners did not have the house ready for us. The next day we were off to a wedding, and Carol came over to say that she would have the hot tub ready when we returned. Carol was staying in the little cabin beside the house, and she was the one that was doing the cleaning. That was a surprise, because she explained when we spoke on the phone prior to booking that she was within 30 minutes of the house and that we needed to be out at a certain time for the "cleaners".
When we returned from our wedding, we were able to soak in the hot tub. The next day my 80 year old sister-in-law and niece stopped by on their way to the airport to have lunch with us. Much to our surprise....Carol kept our deposit....because she said that the agreement had stated no guests, and we had guests. The sister-in-law and niece were guests for an hour and this is what she used to keep our deposit.
I have used VRBO for years and rented places in Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Hawaii and other places with great responses and no issues! Unfortunately, I paid with a wire transfer.
Close to the mountains. Close to Pearl Street and its great restaurants. The perfect place for family to gather and to spend time together. Thank you Carol. You made this Christmas one to remember.
i booked this home with great expectations only to be disappointed on many levels. This was the first trip i have taken with my boys and so many things went wrong here. First, the owner had just left minutes before we arrived only to find that the heat was set (locked) on some extremely low temperature. The night was freezing! We were able to fix the next day, but as an owner you would think she would have verified this??? the home was very sparsely furnished with pretty beat up stuff. no end tables?? Where does one set a drink??? There was a snow storm, very drippy roof so extremely icy stairs, no shovel or anything to take care of? Then the hot water heater broke! After a long day of hiking we had no hot water... The jets for the hot tub did not work and very poor lighting in back yard. The kitchen was another story, the cupboards were filty and i wouldn't have cooked in one pan, all very old and dirty. I did try to reach out to the seller for a response and asked for a day or two refund and no reply... should not be renting out if this is the type of care you give to someone....
This home is in a charming neighborhood and close to all the shopping and fun of Pearl Street. Carol, the owner was very accommodating and prompt with specific requests to help make our Thanksgiving day holiday complete. The backyard is huge and made a great play area for our granddaughter.
Beautiful, Historic, Mapleton Hill, just 4 blocks north of Downtown/Pearl Street, 5 blocks from Sanitas Hiking Trails, short walk to North Boulder Park (children's play ground, swing sets, baseball field, basketball) & within a mile of the Recreation Center
