About Marie Dupré
I can never find a photo that shows me the way I really am :-) but this will do for the moment. I have lived in several countries, I love reading and theatre and cinema. I ask people to respect others and to respect their work - this also applies to our house and garden of course. I trust our guests will do so.
Marie Dupré purchased this Chateau / Country House in 2005
Why Marie Dupré chose Eygalières
Before we decided to buy this house we visited more than twenty others, from Aix to Uzes. My husband knew this was the estate he wanted the first moment he walked in: the huge age-old plane trees guarding the driveway, the views of the Alpilles, the large spaces all around; the genuine 17th c Mas with its 3-feet thick walls and many vaults; the more modern but still genuinely Provencal guest house, built with authentic oak beams and old stones. We have seen many beautiful properties since we made friends here and we still think this is one of the best. Come and see for yourself!
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
This is one of the most outstanding estates in the Alpilles, with unique views and a beautiful park. Two young couples, one from Boston, MA and one from Hong Kong chose to come and have their wedding photos and their wedding here. People who have been our guests keep coming back. There must be something to it then :-) ... On top of it all, we travel abroad when we let the guest house, so you can have our whole estate for yourselves. You will not be lonely though, as our administrator lives in a house on the property and he can help with any question. You will also have the help of our housekeeper during the day.

Breathtaking hidden gem in Provence
This home has subtle decadence, stunning local style, comfort for family and couples alike. No small detail had been overlooked from the decor to the exquisite facilities. We travelled as a family of four with my daughter and her grandparents. The owners were the perfect hosts and the small touches from luxurious poolside lounges to the delightful locally sourced toiletries allowed a luxurious but tranquil stay. Tennis court, huge swimming pool, stunning gardens and fabulous outdoor entertaining areas in the heart of this exclusive village.
Location is perfect for day trips to beautiful villages and the weather was outstanding in September.
We have already booked for next year!
Many fond memories
Thank you so much for this warm review! You were excellent guests - we have enjoyed having you over!
This is an absolutely stunning place.
The most exceptional property I know for my last 20 years in Provence. Never seen such big swimming pool and brand new tennis court. The house is extremely well organised. Very nice place for outside dinners and pool house with excellent place for sipping rose. Super location for active holidays and spot for visiting Luberon, Pont du Gard, Avignon and to try to climb Mont Ventoux. The owners are very nice and provide the greatest level of hospitality. Ideal place for a family with children or two couples (having perfect privacy).
Thank you very much, Marek, we could not have wished for a better review! Coming from someone who knows the area well and has rented other houses in Provence over the years, your assessment makes us especially happy. We hope you'll come back soon!
Beautiful House in Provence
We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful house - it was truly perfect in every way! The location was so close to St. Remy, Eygalleries, I'sle Sur la Sorgue, and Avignon ... as well overnight trips down South to Nice and Monoco. The house was large and beautifully furnished, and it was also air conditioned - which was refreshing when we needed to step away from the summer heat. It had beautiful outdoor spaces for having cocktails, relaxing by the pool or having a relaxed BBQ. There was also a large garden area that was breathtaking - truly lovely!!
We were a family of 5 on vacation that included a young middle school child and two college students. My young daughter especially loved the two dogs and cat that would come by to visit from time to time!! It truly was perfect in every way ... and I am quite sure it will be part of a family memory for all of us!! The hosts were also exceptional in every way!! I would highly recommend this property if you are traveling to Provence!!
Thank you so much for your review, Liz! You were exceptional guests as well, enthusiastic, friendly, eager to get to know the region, careful of our house and its surroundings! I am so happy that your young ones enjoyed themselves and appreciated the animals on the property! Do come back, we'll be glad to host you again.
A magical slice of Provence served with hospitality, amenities, authenticity and privacy.
My wife and I and four kids (ages 8-14) stayed here during the last week of June 2016. This 20 acre property provided an amazing oasis for our family after 2 weeks in the north of France. We stayed at the guest house and lounged at the pool and played soccer tennis on the court. The property was so nice we found ourselves reconsidering our day trips we had planned.
The caretakers, led by Loic and Justine, were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the property. The extensive gardens were a joy to walk thru . We ate fresh fruit, lettuce and eggs produced on the property.
Now that our trip is over we talk about the house as if it was our home....miss it!
Chris, we are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us so much! Thank you for your review! I'll let Loic and the whole team know you appreciated their help. And my husband will enjoy hearing you liked his garden. Let your children know that one of our hens decided to brood: we might have little chickens soon!
Total relaxation in a gorgeous setting
The setting of this place is as typically Provencal as can be - you will be surrounded by gorgeous lavender fields as far as the eye can see! The house is lovely, well equipped with everything you could need - a true home away from home. You will have the use of two outside areas for al fresco dining - one overlooking the pool area and the other overlooking the aforementioned lavender fields. The pool is huge and perfect for lounging during the day. Our hosts were super helpful with all sorts of tips for the local area. The charming village of Eygalieres is only a 5min drive away, while places like St. Remy, Arles, Avignon etc. are also only a short drive away. We can't wait to come back!
Thank you Artin! Do come back!
Our new home away from home in the Provence
I have always thought that Provence's reputation was a bit overrated, and preferred to vacation in Tuscany. But friends wanted to stay here and we spent a week last October. I must say I fell love! Although the official season for lavender ends in August, since the owners do not commercially harvest, the flowers were still there in their full perfume. The evenings were cool, but the days still in the 70s at a time when at home we would be packing out our winter clothes. The Alpilles form a romantic backdrop to the area, which we womenfolk enjoyed on horseback as well, on the sweet little Camargue horses rented literally across the lane. The menfolk preferred playing tennis to riding horses, but we all enjoyed hiking along the ridge of the Alpilles to the town of Saint Remy, where Van Gogh spent his last days in the asylum and painted his most famous works. We have become total converts and hope that Eygalieres will really become our home away from home!
Do not miss Eygalières' Friday market, nor St. Remy's Wednesday one. It is not a secret that some famous actors have moved into our area: you might catch a glimpse of them there or while having coffee in the village..
