Our 2-bedroom Mana Kai condo is fully equipped with everything you need and is great for families. It has a full kitchen and an open living room with sliding glass doors that lead to a spacious lanai overlooking the beach.

Mana Kai Maui is an eight-story resort situated right on a beautiful white-sand cove of the Keawakapu Beach, one of the best and also most kids-friendly beaches on Maui. Our condo is on the 7th floor with unobstructed views of the ocean and outer islands.

One of the best snorkeling reefs is just steps away, and you are within minutes from upscale shopping and restaurants in Wailea or more affordable, surfer-spirited Kihei. Golf courses and tennis courts are nearby.

Family Paradise: We really enjoy spending time with our four kids, and there's no better place for that than Mana Kai: clean, safe, kids-friendly Keawakapu Beach, warm waters and gentle (most of the time :) waves of the Pacific, exciting explorations of the coral reef (right in your front yard!), and a cozy condo with breathtaking views of the ocean, islands, and the beach (and your very own sand castle!)

Why Mana Kai: In 1998, we stayed for the first time at the Mana Kai Maui with out 6-months old son. It was love at the first sight: we've been back every year! After 6-7 visits, we decided to buy the condo. It is our happy place - everyone in the family loves it there! It's so beautiful, peaceful, and convenient too. The Mana Kai is right on the beach - we fall asleep to the sound of the waves and wake up to the songs of birds; we watch whales from the lanai and go snorkeling without driving anywhere; we love to stroll along the seemingly endless, most beautiful and uncrowded beaches of the South Shore. We hope your experience will be just as wonderful!

Awesome View Makes Up For Units Outdated Decor

Property is Perfect. Everyone there is 5 Star ⭐️. Nice pool right next to Beach. Very Warm though. Beach is Spectacular. Flat for long walks. Nice sandy bottom. Great Area for snorkeling. Loved it. Didn’t eat at 5 Palms restaurant in Resort but asked others and they said food was excellent. Nextdoor Resort has expansive lawn area for playing soccer or other games with little ones to older kids. Also next to beach hiking trail. Unit 807 View Is Spectacular. Spent every moment looking out at the view during day and at night I would sit and listen to ocean.

As far as unit goes, besides kitchen it’s very outdated decor wise. Decor is 80’s Hawaiian. All but 1 picture needs to be thrown out. Unit had small cooler bag to use down at beach/pool. Great fans for the Unit. AC in front room. Left doors open 99% to listen to ocean. Would return despite decor.

Ideal location with everything you need for a perfect vacation

This was our 4th time to Maui and first time staying at Mana Kai. My husband and I came for a week to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The location of this resort on the border of Kihei-Wailea on Keawakapu Beach couldn’t be more perfect. It’s quieter and much less congested than Kihei town, and although the beach is public, it wasn’t crowded and had a private feel. The view from this unit looks exactly as pictured. We left the lanai doors open throughout our stay to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean, especially at night. The resort is very well maintained, with ample lawn chairs and grass space under the palms, and a lovely pool with plenty of chairs. It offers the convenience of equipment rental, a well-stocked general store and the 5 Palms restaurant. We took advantage of all. The condo is well equipped for the beach with at least 4 beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas, straw beach mats, beach towels, some snorkel gear and a cooler. The kitchen was well equipped with all the basics to dine in, with a generous supply of paper towels and trash bags. There are grilling utensils in the unit, which we used a few times at the grills. Bathrooms had more than enough towels and a generous supply of t.p. The master bed was very comfortable with several pillows to choose from. The ceiling fans kept the rooms at a nice temperature. Although we hardly used them, the couch and chair are comfortable. The bathrooms are dated (the shower curtain rods and hooks are corroded and the tub could use a good scrubbing) but who spends time in the bathroom on Maui!? We had a wonderful experience staying here and if we are fortunate enough to visit Maui again, this property would be our first choice.

Great until check out

Unit: 5/5. Fell asleep listening to ocean waves. Watched the sky change colors from the lanai.

On the first night, we didn't know any better and left the lights on, which attracted a ton of bugs (bed, ceiling corners). Called Ed the property manager about the bugs, but he never called back. However we discovered the key is to turn off the lights, and the bugs will go away. That may be super obvious, but it was such a helpful epiphany for a city gal!

Restroom: 5/5. Both bathrooms were clean and basic. Our wheelchair-bound traveler was not able to use the shower, but that was expected. It was a bit cramped transferring between commode and wheelchair. Still doable though. Minimal bathroom toiletries (no shampoo/conditioner), but host offered to reimburse up to $100 of consumables.

Resort building: 5/5. Mana Kai has the best happy hour at its restaurant 5 Palms (locals come here). The front desk was so welcoming and helpful. They give a 20% coupon for 5 Palms and Foodland. Travel concierge was also very sweet and helped book a few events for us ($275 helicopter ride and $130 luau). The building has an elevator and surrounding area is wheelchair accessible. However access to beach is not wheelchair accessible, so we went to Wailea Beach (10 minute drive), and the Four Seasons provided complimentary beach wheelchairs to access the beach. 🙌?🙏?🤙?

Host: 5/5. Attentive and accomodating. 30% off for bookings within 30 days.

Maintenance/housekeeping: 3/5. Property manager never picked up phone on initial call. Thankfully he did call back when our entry code didn't work at check-in.

On the day of checkout, it took longer than expected to get back; and we were an hour past checkout; that's when the mahalo abruptly ended. Housekeeping literally chucked our belongings haphazardly into our suitcases and threw it outside the unit door and changed the key code. When I opened my suitcase, there was baby powder and medication all over. My assistant, who worked previously in housekeeping, said what they did is against standard hotel policy. Even if there is a late checkout and back-to-back booking, purging personal belongings outside a unit is never acceptable. Agreed. We paid $150 cleaning fee to indignantly sort our belongings on the floor outside the unit.

Overall it was a lovely stay, and the unit is wheelchair accessible (except shower). Perfect location and great vibes (except from housekeeping).

Owner's Response: Laura, thank you for a nice review of the condo and the resort! To be fair to the housekeeping, they have been waiting for you for an hour past the checkout time, then another hour after I contacted you and before you came back to the condo, leaving them very little time to prepare condo for the next check-in and wrecking their cleaning schedule for that day. We're not a hotel and don't have another room to put arriving guests to. Rules are rules, and respect should be mutual. Aloha!

Excellent!

The unit was clean, the beds comfortable, and the views spectacular. The location was ideal in regards to beach access, as well as proximity to amenities and a variety of island activities/tours. The Mana Kai facility as a whole offered all that we needed. We have already started planning our next visit.
