Log Cabin, 3 Bedrooms w/King Beds, Loft, 2.5 Baths

This gorgeous custom built Eureka log home is roughly 3,000 square feet and has 3 California King sized beds in three large separate bedrooms, 4 extra long twin beds in the loft area. The master suite is downstairs and there are two bedrooms and one large bathroom upstairs. The home was built in 1998 and features a very dramatic 30 foot vault that words do not properly describe.

This log home is incredibly open inside with two Big Country wood stoves in one gigantic great room that is open from kitchen to dining room to the two living rooms. It is truly an artisan home and has craftsmanlike features thru out. From the huge earth slate kitchen to the gigantic river rock fireplace to the 5 foot wide Wolf stove you will certainly feel right at home as soon as you step foot inside.

The home is also just minutes away from the airport, the town of Whitefish, the ski area, numerous lakes and golf courses and yet you feel completely lost at a secluded lodge when you drive into the home at the back of ten acres and across the street from over 1,000 acres of state owned land. The house sits on the rear corner of a ten acre lot surrounded by woods in all directions with no other home visible from the very quiet and oh so relaxing massive front porch.

The home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms with a total of four sinks (two in each bathroom), three toilets (two in one bathroom and one in the master bathroom) a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath and a separate shower in the master bathroom and a combo tub/shower in the upstairs bathroom.

The home has a lodge like feel with a huge vaulted common area that is 30 feet tall and also boasts a very large deck on three of the four sides of the home. There is Wi-Fi for Internet access and two of the three bedrooms have TVs (High Def 42" plasma in mstr w/surround snd/43" Hgh Def flat screen upstairs) with Blueray/DVD/Netflix ect. and 200 channels of satellite. I purposely do not have a tv out in the common area because that is not why you are up there. I try to create an environment for families and friends to commune over the days adventures or recalling memories of fun past stories or a quiet environment to read and relax in.

It is very conveniently located off of Fwy 93 and to FCA airport, 10 minutes to downtown Whitefish, 15 minutes to downtown Kalispell, 20 to 30 minutes to Whitefish Mountain Ski Area and 40 minutes to Glacier National Park.

The home is surrounded by forested land and you will be just across the street from about 1,000 acres of state owned wilderness. What this means to you and your family and friends is total privacy! In the summer you are within 20 minutes of Glacier International Airport, 40 minutes from Glacier National Park, 10 minutes to Big Mountain Golf Course, 10 to Whitefish Golf Courses, 10 minutes to the Whitefish Lake or 30 to the Whitefish Ski Resort. You can walk or mountain bike for miles right from the front door. Or, if you would rather come home and just curl up and watch a movie there is a 42' Plasma TV with surround sound in the master bedroom for a complete theater experience. There is just so much to do in the area!

About Owner

I started my career in a Venture Capital firm and created a Real Estate Investment Company at the age of 23. I have lived out of the country in places like Africa, Spain and Brazil and have spent a lot of time traveling all over the world. I grew up in Darien Connecticut and used to live in San Francisco and now reside near the beach here in Los Angeles. Presently I design and build homes and I am also a LA County Ocean Lifeguard.

Why Owner chose Whitefish

The property is amazingly located in that it is central to both Whitefish and Kalispell, easily accessable to the airport and most importantly is completely tranquil in its location in the woods. It sits at the back of a 10 acre lot and has another 20 acres of raw land to the North of it and has over 1,800 acres of State owned land on the other side of the dirt road at the end of the driveway. Everything is so close yet you feel completely isolated and hence completely relaxed when you are on this property.

Perfect getaway!!

Our entire family loved this house!! The house was spotless and amazingly beautiful. The beds were super comfortable, the two fire places kept the house nice and warm, and the kitchen was amazing!! Deer were in the yard every day and night!

If your looking for peace and quite, while staying in an amazing cabin look no further! Can’t wait to go back:)!!

It was nice well equipped very good location

Everything was good the only thing I didn't like was bathroom upstairs the design was not good for several people because jack and Jill design privacy was a problem the shooting range was noisy one night about one mile away. The stove in kitchen though was the nicest I've ever used fixing breakfast for 10 was a joy

Owner's Response: I am happy you enjoyed your trip and the huge stove but saddened by your comments regarding the jack and jill bathroom. I have tried to state that information extremely clearly in my description. I also emphasize with anyone I speak to that there are two doors to one long bathroom across the rear of the second floor. As for the shooting range, it is actually worse on the other side of the valley as the sound travels over the fields and off the mountains. At least I am buffered by all the trees! That is Montana and you only hear them Thu between 6 and 8:30pm for club target practice!

The perfect place to stay . Beautiful log home with lots of space. Wild deer visit everyday. Along with 2 beautiful bald eagles. We all enjoyed watching them. The beds are all very comfortable and cozy blankets. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need . The stove and griddle were awesome. It made cooking for my family a blast and so easy. The huge bath tub with jets and a glass of wine was perfect for the end of night. Kids loved all the games. Will come back for sure.

Great property for our family of 10. The kids loft was perfect for our 4 little ones. The kitchen exceeded our expectations. The only thing I wish it had was a dinner table that had room for 10. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

My family had such a wonderful time at this home. We did quite a lot of research before choosing this home for our stay and it paid off. The home has a gigantic kitchen with everything my wife and I needed to prepare wonderful home cooked meals. We also slept so well because of how comfortable the big beds were and how incredibly quiet it was at night. The master bed is a little bit high off the ground but it was a neat change for us and with the old logs across the ceilings and walls it was a really neat space. I would highly recommend this home for a wonderful vacation!

As all the other reviews say, absolutely wonderful home. The only negative had to do with the smoke and fires that were burning in Montana during our visit. I had several family members visiting from the east coast and all of us were extremely disappointed that Glacier National Park was essentially closed. We were able to get up the east-side of the "Going to the Sun Road" but there was little to see with all the smoke. That said, we still had a wonderful time, in large measure due to having such wonderful accommodations in this home. I would strongly recommend it to others and we hope to be back in the future!
