Very nice condo in a fairly quaint area

  • 4 of 5

I stayed in this condo with 2 friends. It was a pleasant experience with only a few small issues. The condo is VERY nice. It's very modern, and has an upscale feel. The living room, a half bath, and kitchen are on the bottom section, with stairs leading up to two bathrooms and bedrooms. One bedroom's bathroom has a jacuzzi style tub, the other has a walk in shower.

The living room, and both bedrooms, all have a TV. The living room also has Sonos you can connect your phone to and play music from the ceiling speakers.

It's well equipped with things such as a washer, dryer, clothes iron, dishes, stove, microwave etc.

My only real issues were as follows :

The ice machine in the freezer was broken (no ice at all) and you could also not get running water from the fridge's dispenser. It seemed to be a stopped up filter, maybe.

The ceiling fan in the king size bedroom was aggravating. You'd get it set to the speed you wanted with the confusing remote, just for it to abruptly slow way down again a minute later. Also, preferring the fan to be set on high, it was prone to suddenly start squeaking or knocking, disrupting sleep. The first night, since it was warmer, I put earbuds in and played "thunderstorm" sleep aides on my phone to overcome it. The second night, it didn't squeak or knock at first, but it started midway through the night, and since it was cooler, I ultimately just turned the fan down to about medium.

Also the owner should look into maybe getting a Nest thermostat. We arrived on a hot Friday evening and it was well into the night before the condo cooled down from the 78 degrees it was on when we arrived. With a smart thermostat, maybe they could remotely turn the temperature down a few hours before the guests arrive. Once it got cooled down though, it worked fine. It was just those first 5-6 hours that were fairly warm.

The village itself is nice but most things are fairly expensive. You can eat cheaper outside the village. I mistakenly left my deodorant at home and it was $10 to get some, heh. We were there during "Adult Spring Break" so I think it was more lively than it usually was. If partying is your goal, I'd stay in actual Destin, closer to AJ's, Tail Fins, etc. But for a relaxing weekend or with family, this place was pretty great, other than the price of some things. Bar's drink prices were comparable to bars on the other side of town (AJ's).

Great Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Condo is nicely furnished and works great for 3 to 4 people. Loved the art work!!

It was clean and convenient to everything and was tucked back from the main area. The only problem we had was there was a leak in hallway outside of condo and barking large dogs next door.

Great location, beautiful place

  • 5 of 5

We really loved our stay. The location could not be beat as you’re just steps away from all of the fun in the village, restaurants, shops etc. The condo was great and everything is decorated nicely and it’s very spacious. We really loved this place and will be back! Everything you need is here in the unit - the only suggestion would be to include some trash bags and tissues as we had to make extra trips out to get these items. Love this place!!!!

Beautiful condo!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our condo, especially the decor. Shanna was very responsive when I called about the AC and had the technician come immediately. The only thing I would change would be to have 2 beds in the second bedroom, even if they were twins. Thanks for a great stay!

Great overall experience. Good location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Sandestin and this condo was very handy for us. The resort is beautiful. The condo very well taken care of. It was nice to have washer/dryer and comfy beds at the end of a long day of activities.

There are a few things that would have put this condo over-the-top but are not worth downgrade to 4-star: Beach towels/chairs, spare trash bags(maybe we just didn't find them), and enough toilet paper to last our entire 6-day stay.

We would definitely stay here again.
