There are tales that were narrated in our quiet valley in the past, even before the Grimm Brothers wrote them and brought them in to the limelight: Like the story of 'Jeanchen and Claudchen', two little goats, which are said to have lived in a secluded house in Lengeltal - the story must have served as a model for the story of the wolf and the seven little goats. The Grimm Brothers parlours is a popular family apartment with stunning views of the landscape, provide a sense of tranquillity and comfort, like an old folk tale. The apartment has a large living/ dining room with kitchenette, oven, dishwasher, dining area, sofa lounge and balcony. There are two bedrooms for every two persons, two bathrooms (one with tub, one shower room) and another sleeping space in a niche in the living room. The apartment is furnished with beautiful antique furniture in elegant country style and offers space for 2 - 6 persons. Crib and high chair on request.
Bärenmühle is one of five former watermills in the charming valley of Lengeltal near Edersee. The property is surrounded by the faint noise of a torrent, and is an ideal base for spa and hiking holidays, for cycling tours and active relaxation. The mill is also a classy venue for meetings, seminars, family reunions and romantic weddings. Rooms, suites and apartments are located in three historic buildings of fondly restored monument and are furnished with fine antiques. Our chef prepares delicacies from fresh local produce. The spa program is very purely natural: It includes a sauna house, massage, natural pond and a park-like landscape garden. We also offer yoga, Pilates classes and guided hikes in the footsteps of old miller in our beautiful valley. Bärenmühle is ideal for all seasons for people who love nature, culture and peace. * Garden-Eden-property
Oasis of peace in the heart of Germany: Bärenmühle lies where fox and rabbit say 'Good night' to each other and yet in the centre of Germany: Hamburg, Berlin and Munich can be reached via the train station Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe within two to four hours. Even from Rome or New York it is just a short hop here via Frankfurt airport - all paths lead to Bärenmühle, into the heart of silence. So it is also ideal for families from different regions, who want to meet for a common holiday. There is not only nature surrounding Bärenmühle, but you can also discover a lot of culture: from the Cistercian monastery Haina, birthplace of the painter Goethe-Tischbein, through Arolsen Castle, the Hessen's miniature Versailles, to the Thonet Museum in Frankenberg with its unique panorama of the art of seating furniture (from Viennese coffeehouse chair to Bauhaus armchair), there are many treasures to explore - and if it is only the 'wild men' at the beautifully restored half-timbered houses in the region.
Romantic wedding, successful conference: With its romantic location, seclusion and the special ambience, Bärenmühle is an ideal place for weddings, family reunions, corporate seminars and retreats.
